It doesn’t really work with my theme and my chosen theme doesn’t show in the drop down bar in the admin panel. Check it out:
http://www.seedsofeden.org/garden-finder/
The theme is Sensible by Modern Themes. What should I do? Thanks for the great support so far!
Best regards,
GrahamJune 16, 2017 at 11:31 pm #383659Add some CSS like this:
.geodir-page .site-header {position: initial;}
If there are more compatibility issues, we would need WP admin details in a private reply, and a clear and detailed list of the issues.
Thanks
June 17, 2017 at 4:34 pm #383705This reply has been marked as private.June 18, 2017 at 12:11 am #3837161. I added some CSS at GD > Design > Scripts.
This will assist too: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-your-style/2. I don’t understand “When listings are being added it is not allowing me to use locational services, how do I enable that on the site?”
Your answers may be here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/definitions/#location
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/manage-location/#edit
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/add-google-api-key/3. Can you advise where you see a map that has listings that are going to a 404 page? The two listings linked at http://www.seedsofeden.org/location/ seem fine.
Thanks
June 22, 2017 at 5:27 pm #384363Hello,
The map isn’t showing up any more. It is set to show on the page below. Please advise.http://www.seedsofeden.org/garden-finder/
Also, when you click on the change location part of the main menu it automatically has city, with a drop down of harborough, and it then allows you to click on region. You then click on region and it shows regions as I want, but also England. I don’t want it to say England, or to give options of what to drop down. How do I fix this? I’ve played around with the back end settings and can’t work it out.
June 22, 2017 at 10:20 pm #384403You have disables all the widget sections on the GD Home/Location pages at GD > Design > Home tab.
See more at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/layout/#directoryPlease review these links:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/definitions/#location
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/manage-location/#edit
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/add-google-api-key/There is no location like “all, all, United Kingdom”.
You need to merge the 2 Lutterworths.
I tidied up your locations. You were only allowing listings in your default city at GD ? Multilocation.
I changed that to Multi-region.Your WP permalinks were not set correctly, I fixed that: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#postnames
Your Change Location switcher works now correctly, and there will be content on those pages once you activate the widgets areas (see above) and add widgets.
Thanks
June 23, 2017 at 6:29 pm #384544Thank you. A few more things…
List of fields that will appear on add new Place listing form
Remove Time and Special Offers, it won’t allow us to do it in back end.
Instead of Search bar can we have “Find Community Garden” and a drop down box with our other categories? (eg. Care Farm)
Under “Near” search box, can a dropdown menu of regions (location changer) appear?Where we have the tag “places” we would like to show our categories (community gardens, care farms, etc) but can’t work out how to change that.
The main title on all GeoD pages is in a very large grey box. Can we change this to make it smaller with black text on a grey background to match the theme? or we could have the text underneath centered in the box? At the moment the text is not positioned correctly. Check in the categories page for an example.
I’m looking to have a predefined list of regions that are based on the UK counties. When new members sign up I’d like to ask their region and be able to send them the “new listings” in their area email. Can the email that I receive on new sign up be sent to people within the region? I have integrated MailChimp on the site. Can it be done through that?
The region list is here:
http://www.gbet.com/AtoZ_counties/How do I turn that into a predefined list that will show up in “regions” drop down menu?
June 23, 2017 at 11:10 pm #384571Remove Time and Special Offers,
De-activate the fields, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#commonPlease review https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/ for customizing the search bar.
To have a drop down list of locations, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/multilocations/#main and https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/location-manager-shortcodes/
Where we have the tag “places” we would like to show our categories (community gardens, care farms, etc) but can’t work out how to change that.
I am not sure what type of page you are talking about without seeing it, so please post a URL and/or screenshot.Change title style
Try adding this CSS, adjust as required. For other CSS changes review https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-your-style/.entry-header {background: #ccc !important; padding: 15px 0 1px 0;} .entry-header .entry-title {color: black;}
You will need to extend your user registration with something like https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/userswp-overview/
which is still in beta, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/userswp-beta-gd-integration-uwp-recaptcha/
That will allow you to add a county list.
To set up Mailchimp, you will need to get support from them. Thanks
June 25, 2017 at 12:12 am #384652UsersWP doesn’t exist when I search for it in WP. Can you send a link for me to download it?
June 25, 2017 at 12:37 am #384654It is not in WP, because it is still in beta.
Please have a look towards the bottom at https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/userswp-beta-gd-integration-uwp-recaptcha/#post-363503Thanks
June 25, 2017 at 6:46 pm #384690It says I must purchase a membership to view that but I already bought a years subscription with support.
June 25, 2017 at 7:13 pm #384691And the header CSS doesn’t work, it just shows up at the top of the page at front end. The other bit added there works fine. What’s different?
June 25, 2017 at 7:19 pm #384692Oh no, scrap that, I’ve somehow messed that other peice of CSS up so now our background image doesnt show on GD pages. I really am trying my hardest here so I’m sorry I appear to be just another pain in the ass!
June 25, 2017 at 9:46 pm #384696CSS fixed.
I’ll get Stiofan to look at your membership issue.
ThanksJune 26, 2017 at 4:43 pm #384769hi,
under that username I only see a purchase for the location manager. That gives only access to the location manager forum. Not to all of them.
UsersWP will be released publicly in beta for everyone very soon
Thanks for your patience,
