I’m currently updating my GeoDirectory site to v2.

In v1 I used to use the ‘is featured’ functionality to flag my favourite listings so I could curate a list on my homepage.

As this functionality seems to have changed in v2, my old featured listings no longer show up in my curated list.

I’m attempting to manually update my favourite listings as ‘is featured’ by editing the listing in the WordPress classic editor. But there seems to be several required fields related to address and location which prevent me from updating the listing, when I just want to check the ‘Is Featured?’ checkbox.

I don’t have the location and address details of some of my listings as I don’t want to enforce them.

Any ideas how I can work around this?

    Hi charlievaughan,

Thanks for your post. Listing addresses are mandatory for all listings. If you don’t need an address for your listings, enable the “Disable physical location?” option here https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/places/general/#settings .

Yeah, that’s not what I wanted to do. I just didn’t want to enforce a location. Looks like that changes all my listings and permanently dumps all my location data.

But now I think this is a symptom of a wider problem that I found earlier. I think that this is deserving of a separate ticket though.
