I have GeoDirectory V2 with GD Custom Post Types, GD Events, GD Location Manager, GD Pricing Manager, Ninja Forms, WP Users Invoicing, GoCardless and Recapcha.

Since activating UsersWP I get about half a dozen spam subscribers per day. They all have the Subscriber WP role.

I downloaded the Recapcha. I’ve enabled it for all four options WordPress Registration, WordPress Login, WP Comments (includes GD reviews), GeoDirectory Add Listing. BUT I have disabled it for Admin and Editor roles. Also, I have Askimet set up and enabled, which I have had for years and has been great at stopping spam until now.

What else can I do to stop these daily subscribers?

    Thanks!

    Hi tabitha@socialstreets.co,

Thanks for your post. If they could pass these checks, I don’t think there is anything you can do besides setting up a firewall. Try Wordfence and see if it helps.

    Thanks!

I think something is wrong. I have just logged in as a test user and there was no recapcha. I’d prefer to try to sort this out rather than download a third plugin to do the same job. It all seems enabled so I’m not sure why it’s not bringing up the recapcha step? Any ideas? Thanks, Tabitha

    Hello,

GeoDirectory ReCaptcha will help secure your WP Login (wp-login.php)

I recommend you enable the V2 “I’m not a Robot” option so you can see the ReCaptcha when it is enabled. Make sure you have a key that matches with the version that you use.

If you are using a different login form, you will need to install a different ReCaptcha plugin for that form.

If you are using UsersWP, try this free addon:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/userswp-recaptcha/

It works with the user profile builder we recommend, UsersWP, which has extensive integration with GeoDirectory.

    https://userswp.io/

Let us know if you are using a different login and we can try to point you at a solution or you can contact the plugin author.

    Also see: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/integrations/userswp/#recaptcha

Thanks for explaining that Recapcha’s are designed for specific logins.

Where is the V2 ‘I’m not a Robot’ option you are talking about please?

    I can’t find a reference to it on: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/addons/recaptcha/

    Thanks

Also, should I be using Recapcha V2 or V3 or invisble. The default seemed to be V2 so I left it as that. Thanks

    I recommend you use V2.
In GD Or UsersWP you select V2
In the Google ReCaptcha Admin you select V2 -> I’m not a robot

    Make sure they match

I am still getting spam subscribers – twenty today.

I have gone to my google recapcha admin but I can’t see anywhere to enable I’m not a robot. I assume it is enable anyway. The only thing I can change is to put the level of security to ‘highest’. It also shows me this message: “We detected that your site is verifying reCAPTCHA passed solutions less than 50% of the time. This could indicate a problem with your integration with reCAPTCHA. Please see our developer site for more information.”

When I register as new user on my website it still doesn’t load the recapcha. But I noticed that the register page is on a lightbox. Does this allow recapcha???? Might a solution be to turn of the lightbox for login/registration pages?

    Kind regards

    Tabitha

You have not installed UsersWP ReCaptcha.

Once you have done that, refer here for setup:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/integrations/userswp/#recaptcha

If you have more questions about UsersWP please post your topic here:
    https://userswp.io/support/

You can choose the type of V2 ReCaptcha you want to use in the Google ReCaptcha admin panel:

So do I need two Recapcha plugins? I already downloaded the GD Recapcha, which had settings for login etc. Does this one become redundant if I download the UsersWP Recapcha? Or do I still need both? Thanks!

You asked why the UsersWP popup form does not have ReCaptcha. It is because you have not installed the UsersWP ReCaptcha form. They are not redundant. They have different settings.
