Hi there

I really want to have location switcher in my main search bar but it needs theme cutsomizion. It is best to use cheering ld theme to create it.

I guess I am going to use the GDF child.

So can anyone tells me what should I do when WordPress.org updated? How to get the GDF child update too?

I thought wp update only update the parent theme, doesn’t update the child theme

Hi,

I will use the GDF child theme and off course with GDF installed too.
I will install the wp easy updates.
Since two themes have the same licence key. When wp easy updates updates the themes, it will update both right?

Just need assurance

I stand corrected, GDF child is usually used by developers who have made changes and so it is not updated with WPEU.

Instead it would need to be updated manually with the Easy Plugin and Theme Updates plugin.

so, when manually update, we download the latest GDF Child and GDF
Then In theme, add themes to the already exist themes and they will be overwirte, right?

It said:

Theme installation failed.

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. You need to manually remove and install it. Another method would be to replace it using FTP access. If it says, “Destination folder already exists. “, it means you have the theme installed already.
