Was placed a button on NearMe from the widget, but Click to 404 page will be displayed on the button.
Where do I set the page to be displayed by clicking the NearMe button?

In addition, it is specified in the search range to come out by clicking on the NearMe compass,
It is set to 50km, also will be displayed 350km destination location.
How do I perform the setting?

    Thank you.

    Hi Nagai,

I’d like you to know that you need a secure site(SSL) for geolocation(Near Me) to work in every browser. https://wpgeodirectory.com/adding-a-ssl-certificate-to-your-website/ . Also, please refer to this thread as it covers this topic https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/permission-denied-in-finding-your-location-4/#post-225710 .

I am having trouble with the near me button. It returns that my location is unknown. I did install an SSL and it appears to be in place. My site is http://www.hearabouthere.com. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

    Hi Victor,

I’ve just tested your Website and the near me button seems to work fine on my end. Did you disable to location tracking on the browser? Or probably try using another browser and see if it works.

    Thanks!

Thanks. I checked everything I can think of. It is working on a desktop version of chrome but not on iOS safari or chrome on an iPhone or iPad. Seems like there should be a setting in GD I am missing? THANKS.

As a follow up to my above comment, I also have a site at http://www.firewoodconnect.com in which the near me button works in all browsers while the one at wwww.hearabouthere.com returns an error that ” your location is currently unknown” so I think it would have to be a setting in the latter install. Any idea which one I should look at? Thanks.

    Hi Victor,

both Chrome and Safari now require https for geoLocation to work. For your other website it probably still work because you have the GeoLocation settings cached on your browser from previous visits.

    Thanks

    Thanks, Paolo.

I see that my other site (firewoodconnect.com also a GD site) has a green padlock while the one (hearabouthere.com) I am having a problem with does not. Perhaps my problem is with insecure content? Does everything need to have a HTTPS URL for near me to work?
    Thanks
    Victor

    Hi,

    that is correct.

Google chrome will start flagging unsecure website starting from February too, they are pushing to make https the only standard and it’s definitely a good idea to start considering it so.

    Thanks
