    Greetings:

    I just updated to V2 and ended up with issues that may be theme-related (issues that were none existant with V1 but that now seem to have come to life based on V2’s greater reliance on widgets).

    Issue #1: Marker Cluster is not working… why, I don’t know (see image 1).

    Issue #2: Map bubble not showing the address as it’s supposed to, no telephone number and I’d like to remove field labels to keep just the FA logo (see image 2)

    Note : I used to rely on some css coding to address the bubble map features.

    Issue #3: Listing doesn’t show address and contact info. My theme won’t let me add a widget in the blank page area, only in the footer (see image 3).

    Also, claim listing is nowhere to be seen.

    You can see by yourself by clicking here: https://depquebec.com/en/geomap-depqc/

    Thanks for looking at this.

    Guy

    Hello,

    1. Marker cluster – make the addon is enabled, then visit your maps and add new shortcodes that include the marker cluster option. Use the shortcode builder or widgets

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/getting-started/

    2. Map bubble – fields are shown based on the “Show in what locations -> Map bubble . Settings are in the custom fields. You can hide icons and labels with custom css.

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-your-style/

    3. Sidebar data? – Try changing the page template for the GD Details template
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/templates/details/
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/themes/

    Once you get a sidebar showing, then run the setup wizard (linked above) or add the main sidebar widgets (linked above)

    4. Claim listings has a widget GD Post Claim that can be added to the sidebar. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/addons/claim/

    1. The shortcode is GD > Map – choose a directory map, and select the options you want.
    2. Examples for map bubble custom CSS.

    GDV2 Map Bubble - Hide the Title Field Icon
    .geodir-bubble-meta-side .geodir_post_meta.geodir-field-post_title > span > i {
        display: none;
    }
    GDV2 Map Bubble - Hide the Title Label
    .geodir-bubble-meta-side .geodir-field-post_title > span > span {
        display: none;
    }

    3/4. It looks like you succeeded in getting a sidebar on your detail page, and getting GD Output Location in there. It is at the bottom left of the detail page.

    Not sure I follow any of this. Having the same issue. Here is the page on the site that is not showing clusters.
    https://www.wewhoserved.com/discounts/
    I’m not even sure where to control what appears on that page. It does not appear to be an editable page.

    That is the Archive template.
    Open the GD Archive WP Page, remove the GD Map shortcode, and use the shortcode builder to add a new one with the options you want.

    That seems to be my issue. There is no page called GD Archive.

    The only two pages that include the word “archive” are: GD Archive Item template and
    GD Archive template

    Neither of those two pages has a map shortcode.

    Open up

    WordPress backend – Pages – Add new

    Then add the GD Archive default content, and configure the map as you like.

    Then visit the GD settings and set that page as your GD Archive at

    GD – Settings – Pages – Archive – Select page, Save

    Hello Alex:

    Good news: I succeeded in installing step 1 and 2, so hope there is.

    As for No 3, I am looking to get what I had with V1, namely the address and other info within the detail page, NOT in a sidebar.

    Problem is: the left and right sidebars are filled with widgets from the homepage, so I don’t want them crowding the page.

    What can I do to have the address listed?

    Thanks,

    Guy

    Try adding a shortcode as a tab, and use the shortcode builder to configure gd_post_address
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/places/tabs/

    Thanks Alex. I’ve added shortcodes and it is working. So progress there is! I still need to do some fine-tuning though.

    Question:

    1) I want to remove the sidebar from the listing page but can’t figure out on which page it is located. I removed sidebars from all the GD pages I know and it is still there. How could I do that?

    2) If I click on a listing from the map, the listing page map shows the location of the listing only, which is perfect. Now, if I do a search, click on a listing from the search result page, access its listing page, the map shows all listings, not just the one I clicked. How come?

    Thanks

    Guy

    It looks like you are using the Supreme Directory Single, which includes the sidebar and it can’t be removed without a customization. You can switch the GD Details page to full width template if you really don’t want a sidebar.

    I can’t recreate that, a listing showing multiple locations on a map in a tab. Can you send a URL?

    Hello Alex, I made a lot of progress again! I removed the bar, etc.

    To replicate the remaining issue :

    a) Go on the Map: https://depquebec.com/en/geomap-depqc/

    b) At the bottom, under “Retailer Chain”, pick “Gest. Brosseau”

    c) On the Search Result Page, Click on any listing to visit their listing page

    d) Look at the map down below… there is the issue

    Also, I don’t want to see the feature image file name appearing in the darker bar below the image on the listing page… any css coding to make that disappear?

    Thanks,

    Guy

    Hi Alex:

    No loophole, the code is fine. The map comes from a shortcode I added within the tab, so just changing “directory” to “post” did the job, thanks!

    Since I am so damn good at following your microscopic instructions, why stopping here? I’d like to:

    a) reduce the feature image on the listing detail page (it’s quite big)
    b) remove the file name appearing in white police over a dark background… the current names are not pretty

    Can you help me for that too?

    Thank for the abuse,

    Guy
