I’m new to GeoDirectory.
As a start to developing my site I’d like to create the Supreme Directory demo look. But I’m stuck.
I have installed wp 5.2.2 via an automatic feature from my web host. I was able to upload all the plugins, the Directory Starter and then the Supreme Directory child theme. The Supreme Directory child theme is activated. But my front page doesn’t look at all like the demo of Supreme Directory.
Am i suppose to follow all the steps found on the left link here Installation in order for me to achieve the Supreme Directory default look?
I thought as long as I installed, wordpress, all the required plugins, Directory Starter and then Supreme Directory, the end result would be a site that would look like Supreme Directory demo.
What do I need to do to get the Supreme Directory demo look? Do I simply need to follow all the steps in the Installation page?
Refer to the attachment of what my site presently looks like compared to what I want it to look like.
I’ve also included an image of the installation links found on the left column of the installation page.

August 20, 2019 at 9:59 am #503901You should run the setup wizard, and install some dummy content. Then if you have a particular question about a specific feature write back and we will try to advise you

Thanks for your reply. I’ve just made some adjustments to your homepage and could you check and see if it’s what you’re looking for?
August 20, 2019 at 6:47 pm #504017Hi Kor,

August 20, 2019 at 7:34 pm #504027Hi Simon,
Thanks for your reply. It’s already there when I inspected it. If you want to display a category filter on the search form, you can refer to this section of the documentation https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/places/search/#settings

August 20, 2019 at 10:49 pm #504051Oh, one other thing before I close this.
Which installation documentation page(s) did you follow in order to (re)-create the Supreme Directory home page for me, if any? I’d like to look at these steps so I can become familiar with them.
thanks!
August 21, 2019 at 7:59 pm #504224V2 docs start here:

Read more about each of the templates in this section:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/templates/August 23, 2019 at 2:36 am #504495I’m still having a few problems.
1. After re-running Setup Wizard I didn’t get the same menu links found that are found on the Supreme Directory demo. Shouldn’t I get the same Menus items on my home page like the ones shown on the demo after re-running Setup Wizard?
2. I have set Membership to: Anyone can register
but when I click “Add listing”, this page is missing the: Login Register links. How do I solve #1 and #2 ?
August 23, 2019 at 6:26 am #504525Hi simonxyz,
Thanks for your reply. Please allow me to answer your questions accordingly.
1. You can refer to this section of the documentation that explains how to create a Navigation menu. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/navigation/
2. In the “Add Listing”, you can replace the shortcode with the below to achieve what you needed there.
[gd_add_listing show_login="1" login_msg="Hello! Please register and login to add a listing :)"]
August 27, 2019 at 9:32 pm #505216Hi Kor / Alex,
I am still struggling with developing my site.
Developing GeoDirectory is not easy for a newbie. Do take a look at what I have done so far on my site, actually most of the work has been done by Guust, one of your peers.
I am trying to model my site after Supreme Demo with some added categories such as:
– Services
– People
– ProductsHowever, I might end up streamlining the categories I have.
Where are the instructions on how to:
– create different listing packages (with different features and price for each listing package chosen) ? BTW, Your Payments and Pricing video is outdated because I am using your new pricing manager and compared to your video and what my pricing manager looks like, I am missing a lot of features when I got to my admin/GeoDirectory/Settings/Pricing
– add a user page, where user can see their listings, edit profile?Basically, being a WP newbie I am feeling lost. I thought by buying all the plug-ins, which i have, and installing the Supreme Demo, I would have a demo looking exactly like the working Supreme Demo found at Supreme Directory Demo but I now realize I have to built it by myself.
Also, looking at your documentation page at v2 documentation page is overwhelming.
I simply would like instructions for create Supreme Directory Demo, with instructions on how to create 2-3 paid listing packages with instructions that have instructions with 1, 2, 3, … etc. (step 1 do this, step 2 do this, step 3 do this, last step = you have a working model of Supreme Directory with three paid listing packages. Now you are set to go.
My login for the admin section of my site is still valid. Feel free to take a peak at what has been done on my site already.
thanks!
Simon
August 27, 2019 at 11:24 pm #505236Create one package for each ‘level’ of listing that you want to sell, for each CPT.
A good place to start is one free non-recurring package and one premium package that is featured.
You add packages from the packages tab. There is a packages tab for each CPT.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/places/packages/
1. Open packages tab
2. Edit free package and exclude some fields or categories
3. Save
4. Go back to packages tab, add a new package
5. Call it ‘premium’ and adjust the options, saveMake sure your packages are active, and that the “Packages” field has been added to the CPT.
Now when you visit the add listing page you will see the package select.
Repeat that for each CPT.
