OK Thanks,
will there be another sticky announcement then when Payments and Location have to have their licence keys copied as the others were?
This reply has been marked as private. Thanks Paolo,
I’ve copied keys across and activated – however, I don’t have boxes to put in the Payments Manager (Prices and Payments?), Location Manager, GDF Modern – GDF Child Theme, and GeoDirectory Framework licence keys.
admin creds to follow.
Hi,
I’ve just noticed this and it has thoroughly confused me; I don’t know if I have to do nothing – or do something really important?!
I see that I am on the new system (Autoupdates/Licensing), but following your instructions in the top post – i.e., My Account>Edit profile>licence keys I don’t get very far: after looking in My Account>Edit profile> I can see no mention of License keys ….. ok,so I had a look around this page and clicking on Purchase History> View Licence and then I see a long list, with most add ons saying ‘Inactive0’. Do I have to do anything? I don’t want to mess up my installation?
Thanks
February 1, 2016 at 7:56 pm in reply to: Change 'Geodirectory Checkout' heading on '/GD-checkout' page #115255Thanks Paolo and Guust,
yes – I keep meaning to put aside some time to look at translations – I will bump it up to the top of the list in the near future.
February 1, 2016 at 9:41 am in reply to: Change 'Geodirectory Checkout' heading on '/GD-checkout' page #114956I would add my name to being concerned about this: ‘Geodirectory Checkout’ might suggest that the customer has been (improperly) taken to a different website for payment – would not ‘Checkout’ be the best default text? I have not looked at translation of language files yet; I will have to do so soon, but feel that this is an important piece of text that should not rely on us mastering translation files to get right.
thanks
@Silks, I though about having a package structure along the same lines – with packages having a different no. of voucher uses (e.g., 10, 50, 100) – but I guess you would still have some management input with this route (allocating vouchers)? You could limit the packages to include only certain categories, eg; Main (multi-site) and Franhise categories. Might that be a way to go?
Hi Paolo,
firstly, thanks for fixing this on my site. OK, my understanding is that it is not a problem with the GD theme – it is something to do with the way Buddypress works (or doesn’t) with some themes – I base that understanding on the thread link I posted, in which the poster could have the hidden post functionality with no problems with 2011-2015 WordPress themes but not their own theme – fixed by the theme developer with CSS (much like this case).
Anyway, you are the expert on this and not me. I am so pleased that you have fixed it for me again that I have just created a WordPress.org account and given my first ever plugin review, which I hope you and the team will be happy with 🙂
Thanks again.
HI Paolo,
I am sure you won’t be surprised to hear that I disagree with you on this!
It appears from the link that I have supplied that the issue of hidden groups being hidden from group members as well as non-group members arises from a theme-compatibility problem – i.e., something that could be remedied with GDF framework.
Now, if there was no GD BuddyPress integration plugin/addon then I would agree with you – but GD markets a ‘BuddyPress Integration‘ addon and it is not integrating GD (and specifically GDF Framework) with Buddypress!
I accept that it is Buddypress functionality – but surely that is the point of the Buddypress Integration addon – it integrates Buddypress functionality with GD (and it’s themes)! To quote from your website: “Our BuddyPress integration add-on makes GeoDirectory and BuddyPress work as a single integrated app, allowing you to create a hybrid listings directory and social network, just like well-known commercial sites such as Yelp or Trip Advisor.” It is not doing this – the link I found suggests the solution route – it is beyond my ability, and even if I were to fix it, the problem would still crop up for other GD users trying to set up hidden groups with Buddypress Integration + Buddypress.
I would be grateful if you would look at this again and re-consider.
Thanks
Adrian… and appears to be the same issue as specified in the link I posted: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/hidden-groups-and-forums-not-showing-for-members-of-them/
It is created as a Hidden group – see options when setting up the group (via drop down on ‘Hello, How Are You xxxx’ at top right of admin bar).
