Hi Kiran,
Correct. It works fine in English. And in French, it happens only with 3 CPT out of 4, interestingly the CPT that works fine is that one where the slug is the same in English and French “restaurant”.
I hope you find something soon.

MarcHi Kiran,
I hope I’m not too pushy, but do you have any news?

MarcHi Kiran,
Your IP is on white list, you can now test and it shouldn’t block anymore. Thanks,

So I went onto the English version of our site and there is no issue at all there. I suspect it might be connected to the translation of the CPT slug. Yesterday I updated both GD and WPML to the latest releases.
Hi Stiofan,
I have found a temporary workaround in renaming my main slugs differently, so I can live with the bug a little longer. Since this creates a compatibility issue between WPML and GeoDirectory, I suppose that it will have to be addressed somehow to be fixed (other than users commenting lines off in the code). I’m not in a rush, but would like to stay informed when it’s fixed.
Thanks,
MarcSorry, I think I jumped too fast. The feature is not ready to be used in real life:
…this new translation mode works only from the site’s default language to its other languages. You can create content in the site’s default language and it will automatically appear on other languages even if not translated. It doesn’t work the other way around. If you create content in another language (not the site’s default language) this content will not appear on other languages.
Nevertheless, I tested it with an English listing and it gives a 404 in French because the slugs don’t translate, but no rush in finding a solution for that as long as this functionality is only a one way street.
Best,
MarcHi Alex,
Thanks for the clarification.
Best,
MarcHi Kiran,
Thanks for patching the sites.
So you’re not sure if GeoDirectory or WPML is doing the URL writing from ?p=x… interesting, because it either happens in your code or it doesn’t. How could I find out whether it’s GeoDirectory or WPML ?By the way, I saw you disabled most plugins on my test site without enabling them back. Are you still working on something or can I put them back ?
Best,
