Im sorry I didn’t think of it first, but, make sure you have setup one of your fields to be added to the Advance Search options. There is a setting on the field, then abother setting on the Advanced Search tab to make the option show in the drawer.
It really depends on the area of the directory matched with the coverage of OSM
If you are using the widget, try changing the option for “Open customize my search option” to “open”
Did you try adding the shortcode to another page?
Make sure the gd_map shortcode is set to map type auto or archive. Directory type will show all regardless of category.
GD is not ready for production sites yet, it is still in RC and some addons and themes are in Beta.
You can keep track of the status here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/try-geodirectory-v2/
and on the blog:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/category/blog/Hi Hui,
sorry about that, I did respond last night but I must have gotten logged out somehow.
Kor is right, we don’t recommend any particular theme or builder. There are so many! In general, we also want GD to be accessible and we don’t think a builder should really be needed to manage GD pages and templates. That’s why most of the design elements are available as shortcodes, widgets, and Gutenberg blocks.
GD inherits the styles of your theme. So, the theme is what will set the colors of links and such.
Choose the one you like the best and we will do our best to make sure that GD doesn’t cause any styling issues so you can use your theme and builder to make your site great.
OK, try using the shortcode builder to create the map shortcode and make sure to select the post_type filter with the directory map type.
Let us know how it goes.
Hello,
there are quite a few custom styles in effect, so you would need to debug those; you can start by removing them completely to see if the search is restored. You said it was a CSS edit, right?
Have you tried adding another page with a search bar to see if the gear icon shows?
I looked through the source code and the filters are there but the button is not being output at all. Are you sure you haven’t edited the plugin files? Also, check to make sure the shortcode is showing the advanced search options:
[gd_advanced_search show_adv_search='always']Let us know
There is an example of this kind of customization here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/how-to-prohibit-the-choice-of-future-dates-in-the-calendar/#post-448233
October 18, 2018 at 12:23 pm in reply to: Export/Import Events & Places with pics from GDV1 to GDV2 website #450294GD has a built in importer. Once you have done an import the success dialog will tell you which folder for the images.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/import-export/
Have you already tried it?October 18, 2018 at 12:09 pm in reply to: New CPT – Standard Fields- Empty Label and Description #450290No, they are set (and in some ways editable) for the pre-defined fields, but standard fields are all left blank for you to define. This is the same as it was with V1.
2-2) Title will be shown on the image if there is more than one image and the slider is used. Only the title is shown, and only if the shortcode is set to show the title. The image display will be changed soon to provide additional options, so, coming soon! Title and caption are not set with the media library, they must be set on the imaage as displayed in the upload widget, as shown in the screenshot.
Hello,
Whoop has not yet been updated to be compatible with GDV2.
You can try Directory starter, Supreme child, or any other theme on the market. Whoop is a special case because it features some integrations that must now be updated. That should be complete soon. You can keep track of releases here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/try-geodirectory-v2/
GDV1 and V2 addons and themes cannot be mixed and matched.
GDV2 does not have a GD Home page setting in the options at GeoDirectory – General – Pages
It is no longer required, and so you can use any page you like. There is still a Location page, though, so do take your time to adjust the shortcodes on the Location page to your liking: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/page-design/
That can be done with custom CSS.
We have some information about customizing the style here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-your-style/
In most cases the style is set by the theme. When you inspect the style you should be able to see the source of the style. You can then open the stylesheet and copy in those styles and change them.
For help with customizing your theme you can contact a GD Expert here:
You will need to use a category to specify those members or make the price package and listing “featured”. If you are already using pricing and want to use ‘featured’, then the shortcode is like:
show_featured_only
[gd_listings post_type="gd_staff" show_featured_only=true layout=5 category="5" post_number="10"] -
