Hello,
for now I understand that image handling in V2 is similar, though there will no longer be the requirement for month/day upload folders, but the issue of disappearing images should not happen.
In GD it is more on the side of efficiency and security that we err, the plugin denies access to the media library to keep users out of it (without a 3rd party plugin needed to manage the library/role/access) and storage of images data is in the same table as the rest of the listing data making the plugin fast and efficient.
All that said, I know there are plans to make V2 compatible with at least 1 or 2 of the leading image optimizers, but I think this will involve a connector as opposed to simply throwing in with the media library because, as common as the library is, it is also a serious ‘hit’ on loading efficiency.
Please do create a new topic so we can take a look at the images disappearing.
Hello,
Please login with the account used to purchase the premium addons.
Only active members may receive support for the sites.
You could try adding this code snippet:
add_filter( 'auto_update_translation', '__return_false' );I think running it on admin pages is sufficient.
Add listing page is a GeoDirectory template; any additional content in the content/description area will be removed. You can try adding elements to a header area.
Take a look at the settings at
GeoDirectory – Multilocation – ADD LISTING FORM SETTINGS
Try checking the option – Disable move map pin from changing address fields
See how that works for you and let us know.
FYI is sounds like you should enable Multiregions and Multicities also, on the same page.
This reply has been marked as private.3. I used the backend editor to add a test listing and with adding two images it behaved as expected. Please send the URL to the edit page for a listing where we can see the issue. If the images cannot be accessed or edited from the front or backend, but they are visible on the listing page, please send a link to that listing so we can see the issue. I have disabled GD Boosted so there is no confusion about site cache while we look at the site.
Hello,
1. Category images – please share the URL where we can see the issue.
2. Map center – the map will automatically center so as to include all listing on the site, and there are listings outside the UK so it is adjusting to include them as well. There are options for redirecting users on their first time load of the GD Home page to send them to the default location. Those options are in the Advanced Search panel. You can remove listings in other locations outside the UK if you want the GD Home map centered on the UK, also.
3. Image storage and upload- Images uploaded to the gallery of through a listing are not stored in or available through the media gallery. This is a security precaution, put in place to remove access to the media gallery for visitors to the site. The first image is set as the Featured Image of the post, but this is done without moving the image to the media gallery.
1. I wonder if you have not tried to remove custom styles first to see if the functionality could be restored? If it doesn’t work because of a conflict with the theme we could help you with it.
2. You can also try something like:
.gd-append-near-wrapper { margin-left: -15px; }3. In the searches you link, these are definitely falling into the ‘near’ search and are subject to the default X squared setting at GeoDirectory – General – Search – Limit squared distance area to X miles (helps improve search speed)
I have changed that setting to no limit by leaving it blank. You can give that a try.
If you are really interested in showing ‘all’ though, then your best bet is to figure out the best way to get your visitors to the Listing or Location pages, as these page show ‘all’ for each location or category.
You should at least give the “Popular Locations” widget a try to see if it might be an option for you: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/location-manager-widgets/
Hello!
GeoDirectory produces “Listing” pages, which are taxonomy archive pages showing all the listings that are filed under a category. This is the only page that will show all the listings under that category.
It is possible to link directly to these pages, and there are widgets and shortcodes that will list all those links out.

Excellent! 🙂
It is the Location Manager addon you are looking for, and it adds the ‘Multilocations’ settings tab to the GD settings panel.
1. Did you enable multilocations? Default means only in the context of the multilocations settings, as in ‘enable default location’ as opposed to enable multicity.
2. GeoDirectory takes this on as “Listings have a location, or they don’t” meaning they have complete address plus lat/lon, or they have none of it. There is a setting in General settings to disable address for a specific CPT. A huge number of the features valued by members are related to the aim of a ‘business directory’, and that means these large background tasks done by the plugin to automatically create pages/links/text/breadcrumbs etc based on the location and taxonomy data. That is the core aim of the plugin, as opposed to a general mapping utility.1. this has been fixed and V2, such that it cannot be set as optional.
2. I would say that is a bug, and we can check on it if you like.
3. One character should be enough, though a space character won’t work. I was able to import with an underscore. -
