Hello,
can you say a bit more? Is this for Social Importer, adding an event?
Please send over the URL and some WP Admin credentials in a private reply and we will take a look.
Could be related – FYI: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/social-importer-for-fb-fb-api-access-issue/
Is it working now?
And with try-catch disabled?Hello,
Each country/region/city has a single page, and it is possible to use a widget to show a description for that ‘location’.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/location-manager-widgets/#desc
Locations are stored in GD -> Multilocations, and you can find the locations there and edit their descriptions there.
Location description will show on the page of the location ‘only’, as in, a region will not then again show on a ‘child city’ within the region.
The site has one (1) default location. This is where the map ‘starts’ when you go to add a listing, where the pin is resting.
I would recommend the following:
1. Show full location in url
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-permalinks/#url
2. Allow multiple countries/regions/cities
3. Show category in URLThose settings are ‘wide open’ and allow you to use all the features of GD without running into any 404 errors.
If you change the GD Permalinsk settings make sure to visit WP – Settings – Permalinks and resave the settings there (post name).
Once you have these settings in place it is best to leave them be.
Please do write back and let us know how else we can help or if I missed part of your question. If you have another 404 page, send over the URL and we can take a look.
The shortcode for add-listing doesn’t need to be on the page if the page has been selected in the GD – Permalinks. It seems to work now that the shortcode is removed.
Please try and let us know
Hello,
we haven’t seen this issue in awhile. Please check to make sure your plugins are up to date.
Install WP Easy Updates for notifications and automatic updates:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/installing-addons/#updates
If you uploaded the image yourself, then you should be able to download the image, visit your HTTPS site, and then re-upload again.
Hello,
just tried login but can’t get in with either set of credentials.
Please validate and re-post credentials.
Hello,
I resaved the string translates for ‘places’ in WPML , then resaved GD/WP permalinks.
The second link now works, please try and let us know.
Both listings one for each language will show on the map.
April 18, 2018 at 1:05 am in reply to: Don't know how to use "Make Friends" and "Message" features via Buddypress… #427014Hello,
I did not see that error, can you tell me how to recreate it?
Port 443 is related to SSL, an Apache module, you can contact your host if the error persists.
You have several plugins that are not compatible with GD.
For SEO we recommend Yoast.
Loco Translate can have mixed results.
Read more about that here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/known-issues/Ricky,
if you need more help, please write back. We want to see you succeed with your site, so keep the questions coming!
April 18, 2018 at 12:58 am in reply to: Problems with places migrating site online to sandbox #427012“can’t see”? Are the listings going to 404?
Do review your site URL, GD Permalinsk and WP -Settings – Permalinks. Re-save those settings.
Please tell us more about the issue or send a URL with WP Admin so we can take a look.
Excellent!
Did your site get too big already? Is that why you are splitting it?
Hello,
yes, the listings will show up on the location pages once the settings are correct.
Did you check the settings on the documentation mentioned above?
I just checked your site and it looks like you left country out of the URL. If you have listings in more than one country you can add in the country too.
This page works: https://thesite.com.au/blah/australia/victoria/ivanhoe-east/
Just keep adding widgets to the GD Home Content widget area until you get the layout/listings you want there. You can use several popular post views to show different categories and filter them all by location.
“blah”? that’s a new one for the places slug!
The Geodirectory multiratings addon is specifically designed to work with GD listings, and other plugins will probably not give the same results.
Both are flexible height but our demo shows at 120 and 550 in height, and about 1720 in width.
https://wpgeo.directory/whoop/Hello,
I just checked your FTP for your language folder and there are no language files for geodirectory.
You can translate the strings for Title and Description in the core plugin by following the instructions here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/
You have several other language files there in the folder already, so, looks like you are on the right track.
