There isn’t a built in way to do that at this time, but I will take up your idea as a suggestion and the developers will consider it for future versions.

the default location is always a city.

Add a listing to the city you want as your default location, then visit the cities subtab you show in your screenshot above and choose one location as default. It is a radio button in a column.

This is accomplished with the Custom Post Types addon.

Add a Link Posts field to each of your CPTs. Click the blue button to adjust advanced options and allow linking to 5 or more listings, and other options as you see fit.

Right, but the maps are working. GD Output Locations does not have tabs, but you can visit the custom fields settings. For each field adjust “Show in extra output locations” and choose ‘Sidebar’ and the field will show in the sidebar with the GD Output Locations widget.

You will want to make your changes to the GD Archive Item template. This is a WP Page that you arrange shortcodes or HTML that is used to display those ‘mini listings’.

Find your GD Archive item page and

1. Add GD Post Content and choose how many words should be displayed
2. Remove GD Post Rating
