I will take it up as a suggestion and ask the developers to consider it for a future version.
This reply has been marked as private.In the Advanced Search addon settings you can disable Near field autocomplete, which will turn off the suggestions.
Every simple city search is a near search.
All they need to do is type the city and click go.
You can change the placeholder text in the main search options in
GD – Settings – General – Search
That is inside the extension area, a testimonial.
