Gotcha! Thanks… 😉 That was not an easy one!

Kor:
I just did a very simple test and it shows without a doubt a conflict between GD and the ColorMag Theme.
You can see by yourself, it only takes a couple of minutes.– on a fresh WP install, install the ColorMag theme from Theme Grill
– then create a second user with an Editor role (or author, subscriber, etc.)
– access to the install through the 2nd user and you’ll have the required limited access to the backend that you should expect– Now, install the GD free plugin and try again
– you’ll see that under the administrator, everything’s fine but any other role, you lose access to the backend
– if you remove the GD plugin, then you gain back your access
How it is so? Does a piece of code can solve that? Can you look by yourself on this test installation?
Cheers,
Guy
As you suggested, this issue could be more related to the Theme provider, so I will contact them as well. Cheers,

I contacted codeable.io this WE as you suggested and here’s their proposal:
“thanks Guy, here is what i will do for you. I will install WooCommerce, WooCommerce subscriptions and memberships on your staging website ** you need to get license for subscriptions and membership plugins as they are not free, also create online staging version from your website** I will configure these plugins to work together override some templates and functions in your child theme, so that I allow premium user only to see these fields. I will provide documentation that is clear and clarifies what I did and how this will work. Note that: WooCommerce has some templates for cart and checkout functionality, user will be able to pay and finalize his order within WooCommerce work flow. if any changes needed in WooCommerce templates, (like customizations) or changes I will estimate this separately when needed. also all email templates is easily controlled from WooCommerce settings, but if there are more customization needed, I will estimate this as well as needed. I can work on this from next week, and it will take approximately 1 working week to be ready and tested Thanks, Saad”

What do you think?

February 10, 2017 at 7:12 pm in reply to: Monetizing GeoDirectory with Info Access Privileges #359813You made my day Paolo! Many thanks! That’s fantastic.
By the way, following your suggestion, I just left a request to codeable.io.
Would you be interested in a follow-up on this? I mean, generating a new revenue source stream out of GD is something that seems to me relevant to your mission, isn’t it?
Thanks,
Guy
February 10, 2017 at 6:37 pm in reply to: Monetizing GeoDirectory with Info Access Privileges #359795OK thanks a lot Paolo, that’s what I thought and I’m glad I asked.
Another quick one for you: can I increase the number of listings per page following a search on the GD search page?
Currently, it is set at 10 per page and I can’t find any way to increase that number.
I have inserted a GD Map into that page and would love to see the map reflecting the results of the whole research (20 listings, 50, even a 1,000 maybe or more), not just the 10 items of every page.
One way or the other would do : by increasing the number of items per page OR tell the map to integrate the whole research results.
Thanks,
Guy
Yessss. Thank you!
Do you know why we were told (re: GD training video) to copy the GD directory MO file originated in the plugin file into a new “languages” folder just under wp-content? It doesn’t seem to have any effect and removing it doesn’t change anything : the mo file in the plugin folder does the job perfectly.
Thanks,
Guy
February 10, 2017 at 2:59 pm in reply to: Error message when importing listing from Facebook #359612Greetings Paolo;
Thanks for your prompt response.
I got the following error message from Facebook (see attached).
I found (in the Facebook developer page) the field in which I’m told to add my site URL (from what I understand) but again, since I’m currently developing it in a local environment, the current local URL won’t do. I have an online URL ready but that, again, won’t do.
Am I wrong to assume that once I’ll be online, I could fix this?
Cheers,
Guy
Working! Thanks!
This reply has been marked as private.Hi,
Thanks for your prompt response. I tried deactivating and reactivating the license and it doesn’t seem to have any effect.
Indeed, here’s the error message:
– impossible to copy the file geodir_social_importer/geodir-social-importer-languages/geodir_socialimporter-en_US.mo
– impossible to copy the file geodir_review_rating_manager/geodir-reviewrating-languages/geodir_reviewratings-en_US.poSo I guess it’s language related, and could possible be linked to the fact that I run the site in another language but that is true for all Geodir plugins and only a few come up with this issue.
Thanks again for looking at this,
Guy
