I’ll try to restate your problem as I understand it, correct me if I am wrong.
Your search is not the problem I think, because your users can already search for whatever they like, you have set that up so they can search the multiselect car make field.
The only issue you have is that once a visitor has decided to search for something, you want them then to be able to SORT those results.Extra categories will NOT solve that, results after a visitor has SEARCHED cannot be sorted.
Only the category pages can be sorted, but not by all types of fields, for example you cannot sort by a Multiselect field. Why do you think your visitors want to sort the search results? If they want a different search, they can always perform a different search? Can you give a detailed example, when that would be a requirement?
Can you show me a search somewhere, where you can sort the results without performing a new search? I cannot think of any place where I can do that, not at Google, or anywhere else.
What you often get, is that you BROWSE (not search) the categories, and once you get to the category of your choice, you can sort the results. That is how your site works too.I can see the trouble with your css, it might have to do with the customizations in you child theme css. I’ll get the others to have a closer look.
I’ll get Stiofan to have a look for you.
That would be how it normally is.
What is the code you added?
Post your URL and admin details and tell us more about the changes you made. Can you post your URL and WP admin details in a private reply, then we can have a look for you.
Look in the core translation file.
Do not use the GD > Notifications to change anything, but use the translation files for all languages. It looks all fine for me, in FF and Chrome and IE.
All caches cleared? The de-activating of the plugins did not really fix it, I now set it to MULTISELECT but still do not know why AJAX CHAINED does not work. Let’s ask Paolo to have a look.
Hi Kate, can you post your WP admin details in a private reply so we can have a look at your settings? Thanks.
Changing the custom field to SELECT instead of AJAX fixes it, but I don’t know why.
Have you installed any new plugins?I’ll get the developers to have a look at your question.
And all your Buddypress pages are correctly set up?
If still stuck, post your admin details. -
