Add a prominent link to /location (or whatever slug you use)
What about filtering for country and region? Do they then end up on the same page?
Do they have enough characters in common to filter? This one works just fine: https://wordpress.org/plugins/q-and-a-focus-plus-faq
Hi,
if you have Custom Post Type add-on installed that’s very easy, just edit the default custom post type.
Otherwise you can change all default text string of the plugin via translation file: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/WP does not allow 2 slugs that are the same, so you can not have 2 x toronto as a slug.
Why do yoy have 2 torontos? Did you create a category called Toronto?
Give that category a different slug, and then change toronto-1 to toronto in the database.Let us know how you went.
Thanks
August 20, 2015 at 8:16 am in reply to: Discussion & Concepts "Think Tank" on Events & Business listings #50059Take one GD, a few GD addons, a dose of creativity, and shake, then stir. Let brew for a while. Creativity to be supplied by you 🙂
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/events-addon-widgets/
Events like concerts are usually some place. That place might already be in the system. A concert might be hard without a band, that would be called karaoke, but that is for some other time.
So one would have maybe CPTs called “Where” with categories like concert halls, opera theatre and pubs; the psysical locations.
You would have another CPT called “Performers” with categories like bands, ensembles, tenors and falsettos.
And then you have an Events CPT, with categories like classical, rock, pop etc.A conert hall owner could add an event, and linked it to their concert hall, there will be a link on both the event and the concert hall listing to each other.
If the event is for a performance every night in February, then you would only have to enter the event once and tell the system it is recurring every night until 28 February. That is re-curring.
A band could also add events of where they play, but would not be able to link to the concert hall, because that is not their listing (but I think they can ask the admin to link it – but trying to stay creative, not technical 🙂 )Now as a visitor I can drill down to all events at the concert hall, all events by a band, or all events next week.
Let the creativity power be with you !
You know I am a simple mind, I like to keep things simple 🙂
Cheers
You can set a field to be admin only:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#common
Look for the “admin only” option.Try adding this to your CSS:
section.widget {overflow: visible;}
.geodir_loginbox {min-height: 200px;}Let us know how you went.
Business/Owner is in the CLaim Listings Addon.
The translation files are here: https://www.transifex.com/nomaddevs/geodirectory/
To translate City, Region and Country:
GD > Place Settings > Custom Fields > Address Field > change the city, region and country label. That is not quite possible just with GD.
The closest GD option you can use is the Location Description Widget which can add an image per location: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/location-manager-widgets/Unless I misunderstood the question, this is how I would do it:
GD > Design > Detail tab > Exclude selected tabs from detail page > Select Profile and Photos.PS: Profile (Description) is a compulsory WP field on submission.
To add the CSS for numbers, change UL to OL (unordered list = ul, ordered list = ol)
To move to the right a bit, addpadding-left: 10pxYou might need the Location Manager addon to add places outside your default location.
The core version only allows listings in one city or town as set by the Google API.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/addons/multilocation/You had ticked Places to be hidden at GD > design > map.
Please check now.
I re-saved your listings too to get them to show. Thanks for letting us know.
I alerted Stiofan for you.
