ThanksThat widget is not really built for the sidebar but with some CSS it can be made to look OK. Added some quick sample CSS to your Simple CSS plugin.

Can you explain more?
What type of custom field?
Do you want to “Asian Cuisine” to link to a page on your website from all listings that select that option?
Why not use categories for that?

The user can create a new franchise starting from a franchise page, but that franchise will be a franchise of the main listing, not the franchise itself.
