Figure out what locations Google uses. In Oz, you will find that is Country > State or territory > Town or suburb.
Then merge any locations that fall within that suburb into the correct location.
That will create one location from all the others you merged. From https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/manage-location/#merge
Do not delete a location because that will also delete any listings in that location!
Oh.. so search is not Reg Ex, it looks for matching location word?
Have a read of this again: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/#nearThe default GD search is not an IN search, but a search NEAR THE CENTER OF.
Although the default search for this field is a NEAR THE CENTER OF search, with the Advanced Search addon, you can set this field to auto-suggest locations based on the title of the listings, see Near Autocompleter settings.
Please note that if you have the Location Manager addon activated, the Near Autocompleter will start giving suggestions as your visitor starts searching, which if selected will search IN the location being entered (ie the city or region in the address of the listing) and will not search an area NEAR THE CENTER OF that location”1. Yes, you can do that, but not with the Location Switcher.

What is relevant is the post_city and in the screenshot you provided I see already three different ones. Please review
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/definitions/#location
and
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/manage-location/#merge1. I turned your caching off: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/known-issues/#cacheplugins
2. Review your listings and add addresses by dragging the marker or adding an address and clicking “set on map”. Unless listings have data in the address fields, the lat and lng will not be set and the listing cannot show on the maps.
3. I can’t find anything wrong with your registration setup.
Add the GD Login widget to allow submissions.4. There is no requirement to add lat and lng when adding a listing. You can hide that setting at GD > Place Settings > Address custom field >
5. You don’t need Buddypress, GD will work fine without it. But you can use it or you can use UsersWP: https://userswp.io/
Both plugins will give your users a better dashboard experience and UsersWP has more registration options. Thanks

Thanks
Try adding this CSS:
.page-template-default .featured-area .featured-img {background-image: url('http://YOUR-IMAGE');}For more CSS tweaks, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-your-style/
