1a. The Listings map does not have a category legend, only Home/Location maps do.

1b. GD > Design > Map tab > Select category to untick by default on map

2. That is because they are long names. You can add CSS like this:
.map_category {min-width: 200px;}

Clicking on the down arrow, scrolls the page down, it is not another page.
You can remove/change anything you like there, they are the widgets at Appearance > Widgets > GD Home Content section.

To make the map look less messy when you have a lot of listings, you can also use the Marker Cluster addon: https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/marker-cluster/

2. A search can only be made in one query, there is no further filtering possible.
On the Listings [category] pages for a brand [if they are categories], you can filter custom fields.

Yoast can not do different meta title and description for each location like GD does.
The GD meta title and description at Multilocations > SEO are not affected by Yoast.
