Vikas,
This is no longer an issue on my site with the 1.1.5 upgrade and using the latest Avada release. It would not work correctly in the “X” theme. I move the site back over to Avada which appears to work better with GD.
V 1.1.5 – Additional information. I just updated to 1.1.5 and all plugins. Now I cannot get to my home page at all. In 1.1.3 it would only do the redirect on first access to page. This basically renders WP “Reading Settings – Front page displays” useless. Not matter what settings I chose it just goes to blog page.
Vikas,
Thanks for your reply. If I am understanding you correctly, I think it is very limiting to say that you cannot have any other landing page other than GD Home or Blog Posts. I have a landing page HOME that directs people to the GD functionality.
As mentioned above this did not work this way in the previous version. Is there some redirect code I can remove to make this work like it did in the previous version?
Thanks, Howard
Type ahead on the “Near” search box so users know what is available for cities or zip codes.
Thanks. I will create a new topic from now on.
As with this case, I usually look to see if someone has reported the topic already. If I find the same issue, I usually add my experience to the mix as well, so as not to create duplicate requests. I just want to make sure you are saying make duplicate request. Or does this only apply to topics marked as resolved.
Thanks again for you assistance.
Very nice thanks!
Thanks @stiofan,
Unfortunately, I am caught in the middle here. The grid view selector does not show on /places and I cannot force it to go to multi-columns. Is there a database entry or code entry I can add to make the Grid-view selector work? Or can you point me to the module to modify?
Thanks, Howard
June 19, 2014 at 11:52 pm in reply to: ERROR – KILLED QUERY geodirectory/geodirectory_hooks_actions.php:1011 #5172Paolo,
Could not even get into backend WP admin. So just uploaded V1.1.3 ZIP into plugins folder and exploded it and all appears to be working again. Have not done exhaustive testing but looks much better.
@stroudsco (Dave). Did not have to re-install WP just explode the new version in the plugins directory. Everything came back like a champ.
Thanks, Howard

Did update to Geodirectory only. Other plugins installed and activated, but did not update them.
“500 Server Error
A misconfiguration on the server caused a hiccup. Check the server logs, fix the problem, then try again.
Not seeing error in wp-admin or root folder error log. What error log did you find the error in?
Hosting provider heavy throttling on server from this action. This is what is still running.

Hear is a photo of test environment: Notice that a city 1159 miles away is showing next to one 7.61 miles away. Granted, it is the next one in alphabetical order (Title sort), but it is not “near” Tampa.
Thanks. Howard
Hey Guys,
This also happens to me if I turn on a default sort for any field in the Sorting Options section.
Here is how to reproduce issue:
1. Remove all sorting fields in the Sorting Options section that have the default sort set assuming you have some.
2. Search should work correctly now using just “Search Near” only field.
3. Add a sort field back to Sort Options list but do not set as a default search.
4. Now do a “Search Near”. Should show correct results. However, if you now sort the “Search Near” return set, it gets wiped out and is not honored (basically just sorts everything). It is interesting that the “Search For” field does work properly with the sorting function. Maybe because sort is done in DB.
5. Finally, if you make any sorts the default sort the “Search Near” function will not work.I have tested this in my production environment and in a clean unaltered TEST environment.
Thanks, Howard
Thanks again for the replies. Regarding #1. Yes, that is the way I have it set up (1 free package edit phone number only; 3 paid packages edit additional fields) and it works properly for adding a new listing. However, if you click the edit listing link, it shows all of the fields even though the place was not upgraded with a payment package. This renders the payment option useless.
For #2 I have figured out how to make this work.
Thanks, Howard
