I appreciate this effort and changes form the team too!
+1 for true radius search.
I’ll test this and give you a feedback.
MANY thanks! That’s a GREAT piece of code!
I need this to work for a custom post type ‘gd_offer’ instead for an event.
Could this code snippet be made for use with a custom post type defined by us?
Thanks!
Thanks for the update, Stiofan! Looking forward to the beta.
June 20, 2016 at 10:04 am in reply to: Different logic search via location suggestion and location as word #212037Hi Guust,
yes, it would be awesome to have suggestions, so people do not misspell but I will turn them off, because the general expectation is the results with radius search.
Is it possible with custom programming to exchange the suggestions data taken directly from google (I guess this is how it functions right now), with suggestions taken from GD database for locations (cities, regions, countries)? So, instead of google suggestions, the script browses what we have entered in the back-end in GeoDirectory > Multilocations > Manage Locations via the Add/Edit Location tab?
Then the end user will get both – suggestions options but with radius search. Do you think this logic change will slow down the suggestions that must pop?
Cheers.
Happy Honeymoon to Stiofan and waiting for a sign when he could tap his fingers on the task.
Thanks.
April 10, 2016 at 10:50 am in reply to: Change permalink structure without breaking the site #161102Hi,
It was some interrelation with the Multilocation Add-on. Suddenly all came properly online.
I cannot replicate the process, but now it works and we can mark this as resolved.
Cheers.
So, I went through the process again the result is the following:
1. The permalink structure is updated – I can see the new permalink in the browser address bar.
2. The new URL returns 404 page – not found.
If I just exchange in the address bar the prefix with the old one, it also returns 404 (just for testing). All Listings (places) are available in the back-end and their data appears in the search listings page, just the details pages are returning 404.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
Sorry Listings (Places).
Hi paolo,
This is what I did:
1. Changed the prefix, Saved it.
2. Went on permalinks. Put the default structure with ? and saved
3. Then I putt the pretty permalink structure and saved it.In between always cleaning GD Booster.
Did not do the change. I was getting 404 for the Locations.
WOW!
Thank you, devs & support!
because anyway I am following this post still. I can fix a DigitalOcean server that fits with GD, if you don’t know anything about it.
Starting monthly price is $10. You can upgrade or downgrade the server depending on how much power you need.
I made all performance tests, etc. outcome was very positive.
If you are interested PM me.
@support – sorry if such a message is not appropriate to be put here.
Hi support,
I am still waiting for updates on this topic.
Whenever you have time.
:):)
Thanks, devs!
thank you!
