It’s not wrong, you will also need to translate our add-on there. But we usually ask for translator to start from the Core translations first, then they can moving to other GD product including theme and add-on and keep the translations up to date in order to keep your free membership.

Several mostly complete sets have been submitted to wp.org but the French translation team has not approved a PTE for GeoDirectory yet.

Please do stay in touch if you finish the translation and would like to submit it to both those projects and are willing to work with the locale team.

Usually when translators finished translation of GD core it is approved by the locale team. Contact needs to be made with that team to either request their help or gain a ‘role’ as a PTE on the GD core project for the specific language. I can help with that request once the translator makes contact with the team.

About the membership, the details are covered in the handbook page: keep the core and addons plus the readme up to date with the current version of GD to receive the membership.

Right now, GD V2 is available for translation. My suggestion is to translate some of the GD V1 strings on wp.org and to start with the locale team by getting touch with them. Get in touch/ be friendly to your locale Team, so they will know you, and then when your core translation is finished we can all make a request to promote you as a PTE at our GD projects. Then, you can continue translating on wp.org and approve your own translations.

V2 will has a lot of new translations (most strings have been changed/corrected). I would definitely start working on V2 from scratch.

You can translate it and ask the locale team to validate it for you. Or you can ask them to be the PTE which means that your strings are automatically validated.

Either one you should get in touch and be friendly to your locale Team.
