April 16, 2020 at 8:19 am in reply to: Location page seems useless as is. How can I make it better? #540554
thanks, Kor. Please excuse my ignorance but these instructions are not complete enough for me to understand: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/design/gd-categories/
Scratch this. I just found it. That’s the shortcode builder on the page. Might be helpful if you said that for novices like me. 🙂
April 16, 2020 at 7:37 am in reply to: Is there a way to make the archive page title dynamic? #540545I’m sorry. I guess I didn’t give you enough information. I’m talking about the title on the archive page: https://supportyourtown.online/places/category/services/ You can see where I tried to put shortcode that didn’t work.
April 16, 2020 at 4:56 am in reply to: Neighborhood appears broken. What is it supposed to do? #540532The maps works fine now. It’s just the neighborhood that does not. See my original question before we got in the Maps weeds. The Flywheel login is flywheel / katandmouse
April 16, 2020 at 4:00 am in reply to: How do you get custom field to show in the listing area and not the sidebar? #540525I’m sorry. I didn’t know you had to be a developer to set this up, so please excuse my ignorance.
How do I get the custom field in there? I’m assuming with a short code so I tried [short_description], then [gd_short_description]. Nothing gets replaced.

None of my custom fields or the logo field (which is not custom) shows up in the drop down menu in the short code creator. If there are directions somewhere for that, can you send me a link. I can’t seem to find anything.
Also, sounds like what you describe will help me to get the field to the details page, but how do you get the logo out of the slider?
thanks.
It’s better, but I just tried again with another listing to preview without saving and I got the 404 message and the url was https://supportyourtown.online/places/united-states/california/santa-cruz/uncategorized/113-autosave-v1/
It shouldn’t even have uncategorized in there because it does have a category. I’m afraid if you came to look now, it may work for you and you may think it’s fine. Let me see if I can find some consistency first.
That seemed to work. I want to try it a few more times though, so please don’t close this. It required changing and saving the details page to make it kick in. I actually had to do that twice. The first time it got the 404 page instead of the 400. Then changed and saved it again and it worked. Thanks.
April 16, 2020 at 12:01 am in reply to: Neighborhood appears broken. What is it supposed to do? #540491By the way, now that Google Maps is working, the neighborhood still is not. So I guess I’ll have to turn that off.
I know it works for you, but if it doesn’t work for me, it won’t work for lots of others. I’ll need to turn it off.
April 15, 2020 at 11:19 pm in reply to: Is there a way to get featured listings to just be where the visitor is? #540482Ok, so I see. It doesn’t set the location and automatically refresh those listings when they arrive. Correct?
Thanks.
Thanks. It was a problem with Google Maps. Fixed that problem and then this got fixed!
April 15, 2020 at 10:14 pm in reply to: Neighborhood appears broken. What is it supposed to do? #540460Fixed it. I had to have a friend help me. He created a new one. He thinks I was using the wrong type of API. I was using a Maps javascript API. Not sure what he chose, but it’s working now.
April 15, 2020 at 8:03 pm in reply to: Neighborhood appears broken. What is it supposed to do? #540423OMG. I can’t believe I did that. Thank you. I fixed that. Still broken.
What now? I’ll have to hide the map for now until this gets sorted out. 🙁
April 11, 2020 at 12:19 am in reply to: Neighborhood appears broken. What is it supposed to do? #539564Oh shoot. Looks like my other reply didn’t get saved. I actually found where to edit it last night and changed it. (It was set.) Didn’t help.
Here’s what was there when I went in just now: https://supportmytown.online/*
I just replaced it with: *.supportmytown.online/* (which I think was there originally)Still broken. If you go to the site, you will see the map load and then quickly get overwritten by the error.
April 10, 2020 at 7:21 am in reply to: Neighborhood appears broken. What is it supposed to do? #539429I did. How do I get back there to fix it if that’s the problem? I can’t find it.
