Hi Wilson & Mark,
1. should a listing have more than one category assigned to it?
Yes, you can assign more then one categories to the listing.
2. if a category assigned to a listing is not on the 5 popular categories listed on the homepage is that a good idea to do for any reason? In other words a pizzeria that is also a restaurant – should it have FOOD as main popular assigned home page category but also have pizza and restaurant as 2 additional categories assigned to it? Is there a reason to create more sub categories or should we just clean up all the categories and have each listing fall under one of the 5 main home page categories?
It depends on you whether you want sub-categories or not. If you don’t want to use sub-categories then first un-assign those subcategories from listings and once all sub-categories found un-assigned form listings you can cleanup those sub-categories.
BTW you can edit no of categories displayed in Popular Categories under home page featured area. In file /wp-content/themes/supreme-directory/inc/geodirectory-compatibility.php there is a shortcode[gd_popular_post_category category_limit=5 category_restrict=1]
, you can increase/decrease value for category_limit here.
Thanks,

This reply has been marked as private.Hi Andrew,
The admin credentials no longer working for us.
We have to look into to find the problem. Without site details we can’t able find what is the problem and what is the actual reason for the problem.
We always taking care of the customer’s site data. We always taking backup, if we finds something to update on site to fix the problem.
I checked screenshots and seems you have incorrect entries in locations database. Please try export locations > fix cities & regions names > re-import locations. Set default location again. This may fix the empty locations problem.
You can do this from GeoDirectory > Import / Export section.
Take backup before doing this.Let us know.
Thanks,
KiranThis reply has been marked as private.Hi Look,
You have to fix categories missing problem first. Assign the categories to listing which ahve not any category yet.
With GD now urls are changed you can redirect older urls to new urls. check this plugin doing same job:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/
Or you can use your own method if you have for redirection.Kiran
September 14, 2017 at 6:31 am in reply to: geodir_get_post_info() Not returning updated listing #395673Just update changes mentioned at here https://github.com/kprajapatii/geodirectory/commit/11eb913e309cad66121944d36af1a6b24aa12a49#diff-86c041744b881cb35af9ed5398f5daae, you do not need to upload all plugin files.
Update this file only: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kprajapatii/geodirectory/11eb913e309cad66121944d36af1a6b24aa12a49/geodirectory-functions/general_functions.phpIf you still see error, then turn WP_DEBUG on in wp-config file and check wp-content/debug.log

Hi Look,
We used the supreme theme and would like LookCT.com to look like LookNY.com which is completed.
I have enabled supreme theme. check now it looks like same as LookNY.com. You have to upload new logo for LookCT.com because previous logo has white background and it doesn not looks good on supreme theme. What I don’t see on LookCT is our terms and conditions anymore though…could you see if that is still there to add on the bottom as we had it? I’ve attached screen shot of old site to see its on the bottom left.
check nowAlso as far as redirects to the URL’s we had so that Google searches pull up the proper listings, is that easy to do?
For example, if you type in Google “European hair salon Greenwich Ct” you’ll see LookCT number 1 on searches but that link will not take you to the listing…I assume these are the redirects we need correct?
Yes this requires redirects as google has cached pages. You can submit new sitemap at the Google via Yoast SEO plugin. Also on the latest places on the bottom front page the only listing that works is Post Parkway Services…all the others like Valleg roofing and franchescas spa salon do not seem to work
See https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/help-with-migration/#post-395267 i already told early that some places has not any category assigned. Listings which ahs not any categories assigned may shows page not found. Thanks,
KiranHi Guillaume,
I have checked on my test site with J F Y date format and i can’t recreate problem there.
But recreated this problem when
– Ticked “Recurring event?” = No
– Selected “Event start date” = 14 septembre 2017
– Selected “Event end date” = 14 septembre 2018
– Ticked “Recurring event?” = Yes
– Here when i went to choose Recurring ends > occurrences, it shows me 14 septembre 2018.Problem here is it was setting the min date to recurring end date if you have chosen event date before.
But now i have fixed this problem and it will be available in next release.
Let us provide admin & FTP credentials so we can update patch on your site and fix if it is the same reason for the date problem.
Thanks,
KiranHi Jason,
I have successfully imported CSv file that you provided.
