Doesn’t appear to be working with this theme/editor…
I have [gd_search customize_filters=”always”] on both coosguide.com and coosguide.com/directory and the search filters dont show up in either case.
I see no such button…
I think I might be missing something since the shortcode builder doesn’t give me any option for advanced search at all….
The only search related option I see is gd_search.
I am using the Extra theme (similar to Divi) so that might be screwing something up.
Thanks for getting back to me so fast.
I am curious, what fields does the Search actually parse? For example, if I add a Tag to a restaurant “chinese” and a user searches for “chinese” will it find that restaurant based on that tag?
If not, what exactly are tags for?
ETA: Well, it appears that Buddypress was breaking the search. I disabled BuddyPress and I can, once again, search as normal. (Yes, I had BuddyPress integration installed.
Thanks for the input. Is this close enough to being “done” that I won’t set myself up for a bunch of headaches with the new version?
Thanks for the reply. Just so we are clear, GD does still work with Multisite, correct? So I could still use a multisite implementation to make management easier? But users will still have to make a profile on both sites, regardless.
January 14, 2018 at 4:32 am in reply to: Claim listing vs back-end: When does the timer start? #412716So if I understand this right, I should have Price: Backend-$0.00 and Price: Front-End $49.
When I create a listing on the backend, I use the $0.00 price, and when an owner claims it, they will upgrade to the $49 option?
I want to change the individual listing URLs. Rather than url.com/directory/unitedstates/state/city/mikesmexicanrestaurant I want url.com/mikemexicanrestaurant
This reply has been marked as private.I’m sure somebody with much more knowledge than myself will be along, but from my experimenting with it, it seems that you can make a job portal with it.
I run both a local job board site, and I am developing a local directory and news blog. For the job board I use WP Job Manager, which is a dedicated job portal plugin. It has two huge benefits in that it has a Ziprecruiter plugin that you can use to backfill your site AND it has an online “resume” builder. Plus, it’s pricing capabilities make more sense for a job portal.
If all you want to do is allow employers to list jobs and the basic details, GD would work. If you want a more purpose-built solution, I would look elsewhere.
All I am trying to do is use the shortcodes to build a url.com/directory page and possibly add some of the shortcode widgets (like search, popular categories) to various pages on the site.
I am not using any stylesheets other than those that come with the multinews theme. I haven’t modified any of them.
So what’s likely the cause of the strange bars that show up surrounding the GD shortcode elements?
Also, does the search bar have to be full-width? I seem to have some overlap on the search bar fields when using something other than full width…
