the only thing I see regarding sitemaps is a time out:

if anything is entered in the near field the search will be by proximity. It’s impossible to achieve a mix of the 2, the results would be confusing.

1) the navigation links generated by GD are placed after the regular menu, there is no way to add a link after it without a customization.

2) Via translation file : http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/translate-core/

3) Remove the map widget and add your image via html in a text widget. The size really depends on the type of banner you want to add. Will it have to be full width? In that case minimum width should be 1920px to fit all screens.
