switching theme does move widgets around. Go to appearance >> widgets and put back the map widgets where they belong.

I don’t think there is a filter to do that and modifying core file will prevent you to update the plugin safely in the future without losing your changes.
If you select a default sort option in GD >> Place settings >> Sorting Options, for example Title or Random, the option name will appear by default instead of Sort by.
I think this is the only easy option you have. Anything else would require an extensive customization and I don’t think it would be worth it considering we are talking about a place holder.

I’ve split this so that I could assign it to a developer.
I can see the same problems in our demo, I remember seeing both things before release and I remember that Stiofan fixed them both.
I’m not sure how they could be broken again.

Yes I just double checked and that field doesn’t appear anywhere, the only field you can use to add a description is the Front end description, which will appear below the field in the backend form too.

I’m not sure I understand the problem, please describe the problem with more details and possibly provide a link and admin credentials so that we can see it.
You can’t delete default prices. If you want to delete what now is a default price for a custom post type, you need to 1st set another price as the new default.
