hi Alex,
thanks for the response.
On #1 above, where can I find the settings? Can I change it myself? I am surprised we are limited to 2Mb as we are running on dedicated server.
On #2, it sounded like you do not think that is a bad idea if we need to do lots of updates?

hi Kor,
thanks for your suggestion. I retry the import using LibreOffice and 99% of the issue went away.
We previously were using Excel.I understand we are not supposed to use Excel to manipulate the csv file. However, Excel is a lot more pwoerful than Libreoffice in terms of macro and overall functionality. If we use Excel to manipulate the file and use Libreoffice to export the file as csv, would that still work? I am just curious.

Stiofan,
thanks again for your help. We will continue to monitor the site’s performance and keep you in the loop if we run into issues. Regards,
Peter
hi Stiofan,
thanks for looking into it. Just a few quick follow-ups:
1) Caching configuration — I believe you have turned off GD Booster and have enabled Wp Super Cache + Autoptimize. I assume this is the best configuration already? Varnish on cloudways remain disabled. I assume this is what you want us to do. Please confirm.
2) Cloudflare — we have enabled cloudflare since we migrated from siteground to cloudways. We have largely used default configuration (rocket loader off). Please confirm if this is ok.
3) Apdex score on New Relic / CPU / Memory
Since we migrated to cloudways, we have been using New Relic to monitor the application. We like the tool a lot as it gives us lots of transparency although we are still learning how to best use the data and analytics. We have noticed lots of Apdex score alert (<0.6) in the last 24 hours, presumably it may be driven by testing done by your team. We have also been monitoring CPU and memory usage which are currently well within the limits of our server capacity (our traffic is very low). Can we assume if the Apdex score is poor (and if CPU and memory are well within limits), it is likely driven by the application (WP/GD)? We will keep using the tool for monitoring unless you tell us otherwise.4) will the changes you made in events manager be included in the next release? I just want to make sure when we upgrade the plugin, we won’t lose the changes you made.
5) It appears you have removed some fonts (Google fonts, I think). Do you think it impacts the speed materially? I am okay with it as site load speed is far more important than fonts! Just want to confirm if it is done deliberately.
6) Are there other changes you made I missed above? I just want to make sure we would not accidentally undo changes you made.
7) Size of database — how does the size of the database impacts the speed of the page load? Currently, we have ~3000-4000 records in the events CPT. Many of them are linked to a place record. If we increase the size of event database five fold, would that impact the speed of page load speed? Presumably, we may need to increase server capacity to match the bigger database? What is the largest GD database you have seen so far? (I assume we are miles away from it but just want to make sure we are not breaching its capability limits.)
thanks again for your support. best regards,
Peter

We will go ahead and make the migration. We will come back if the speed issue persists.

hi Paolo,
thanks for the response. Are you saying if we move to a dedicated/cloud hosting plan (e.g. cloudways as suggested by the documentation), the speed issue will go away? regards,
Peter
hi Kor,
I understand this requires customization. I am not sure if we want to go as far as forcing people to login. We would prefer a gentle account creation reminder. For example, after the user has browse 10 pages on the site (without login), a popup reminder of account creation is shown. We are not trying to sell membership but we want to increase account creation. Are you aware of such a plugin? thanks,
Peter
hi Kiran,
thanks for the tip. I think I found a workaround to the problem. I am putting a placeholder (default value) in the internal_id which should fix the issue.

We have disabled all non-geodirectory plugins and ran the same test. We are seeing the same issue. Can someone please look at it for us? thanks.
thanks Kor. works perfectly.
hi Kiran,
I did some additional testing.
The front end add listing functionality actually works for one CPT (“place”). It only has problems on the event CPT.
Thoughts?Peter
hi Kiran,
DO I need to disable Genesis theme? We have lots of plugins, which one is more likely causing the problems?
Please give some directions/guidance. thanks,Peter
