Thanks – I have done it with all the other themes – just nobody mentioned it so I wanted to ensure it was possible as it doesn’t work with some themes. Also Stiofan and Paolo provided one with GDF 😉 which I am using.

I will use Whoop on my next project – have a few on the go at the moment- it keeps us busy! It looks exciting…. but marketing the sites once up is time consuming but worthwhile. It takes a while to familiarise yourself with the new settings with each development too.

While here can I ask if there have been any more thoughts on GT to GD conversion? Paolo mentioned it once as a future possibility. My first site, started quite a few years ago using GT when it was new, looks old in comparison to the latest GD!

    Thanks,
    Sue

I have used Webfusion’s VPS for the last few years and found it fine but did have to learn to find my way around Plesk! I realise I might need to upgrade to dedicated at some stage but have no idea if I will then have to learn how to run and manage that too! Need to research that.

I will look at Paolo’s suggestion of Cloudways too for the future, as if you can easily upgrade when you want by clicking a button, that is a boon. When I bought my VPS they said you could simply increase the capacity if needed but when I enquired recently they said I would have to buy another VPS, which was not what they initially led me to believe. It’s ok at the moment though.

I found with shared hosting there were things that you had no control over and others you were unable to do. You only find out that you don’t have certain permissions when you are prevented from doing something you need. These cannot be changed either.

A blog on this would be helpful to people Paolo, as it was a learning curve for me 😉

I am not a fan of GoDaddy either!

PPS to above 2 posts, Paolo – FYI – I redid the whole thing using a new webspace and the domain.fr instead of domain.info. I used the GDF child and not the GDF Modern child and NO problems! I did not encounter any of the issues above. *happy*

PS to above post. No, I thought it was ok last night after making the changes you suggested, but it’s still not working properly, will have to try to sort it somehow. This has not happened before so I wonder if I have set up something wrong, but can’t see anything different in the Plesk settings and have done the procedure many times.

    Will let you know.
    Thanks,
    Sue

Yes I should have given you them BUT the problem seems to have cleared since I posted this and after 24 hours of happening! However, the Home Page displays fine in Safari but in Chrome and on Ipad, the map and images are not showing 🙁 Any ideas? I will check all my settings later tonight.
    Thanks Paolo,
    All the best,
    Sue

Wow! That sounds exciting – it has been a long road over the last 3 years but I have learnt so much along the way as GT progressed. Interesting there is more in the pipeling… 🙂

Thanks, Simone – I will have a go now. Just adjusting to the change from using GT to GD 😉 I really like GD – it’s been worth the long dev time but I’m still using both. Stiofan and Paolo have done a great job! It has so many options and will be easier to use once I find my way around everything. Interesting comparing them too.
    Definitely a +1 😉
