Is GD V2 much larger than GD V1? That may be the answer to my issue.

Currently, I use ColorMag as my theme. Do you think it would help my resource problem if I used the 3rd party theme you recommend, Listimia?

Is GD V2 much larger than GD V1? I don’t remember experiencing these issues before.

    As for resources, I have:

    Disk Usage – 21.41 GB / 40 GB (53.52%)
    System Disk Usage – 20 GB / 60 GB (33.33%)
    CPU Usage – 15 / 100 (15%)
    Physical Memory Usage – 200.23 MB / 2 GB (9.78%)
    File Usage – 282,398 / 3,735,552 (7.56%)
    MySQL® Disk Usage – 275.26 MB / 18.86 GB (1.43%)

    Hey, Guys –

So, I think I’ve got things flushed out here. Whenever I have GD V2 activated, I can’t access the customizer to updated CSS. I’m not sure why. If I deactivate GD, I can get into customizer just fine.

    Any insight on this?

    Hey Kor,

I would have to have the hosting company run a diagnostic on it again to get you the error logs. But something is/was causing my CPU Usage to spike randomly. To get my site back online and running somewhat normal, I only have a couple of plugins running, GD Core being one of them.

The spiking has happened periodically over the last 30 days, but more when I added Optimole, which is an Image Optimizing plugin. Not sure if it conflicts with GD or not, but I like the concept of the plugin. It services images from their cloud, so I shouldn’t get CPU Usage or Disk Usage spikes. But at the same time, since only running GD Core and Optimole, I haven’t seen any spikes in CPU Usage. So, I’m kind of at a loss. lol

At any rate, I’ll keep monitoring it. I didn’t know if you had heard of GD Core or is sister plugins spiking CPU Usage or not. So, I thought I’d reach out to see if there were any known issues with the GD plugins.

In some digging with my hosting company, it seems that the plugin was causing spiking in my CPU Usage. I just got a notification to update GD in my admin to v2.0.0.85. Maybe that will help.

Hopefully, with the new version, my CPU Usage won’t spike anymore.

I’m not really seeing errors, that’s where my confusion came from. Just keep noticing that the site would run slow. Especially when in admin.

I’ll deactivate AMP and see if that does the trick.

    Hi Kor,

I used WP Super Cache one time, I thought it was working fine until I got the “white screen of death”, so I removed it. But I have used Cache Enabler for a while and it seems to do the caching job fine.

These are the Plugins I have activated on my site:

    Accelerated Mobile Pages
    Auto Affiliate Links
    AyeCode Connect
    Cache Enabler
    Cookie Notice
    GeoDirectory
    GeoDirectory Advanced Search Filters
    GeoDirectory Custom Post Types
    GeoDirectory Events
    GeoDirectory Location Manager
    GeoDirectory Marker Cluster
    GeoDirectory Pricing Manager
Glue for Yoast SEO & AMP
    Insert Headers and Footers
    Invoicing
    Social Snap Lite
    WP Easy Updates
    Yoast SEO

Figured I would let you know what they are ahead of time. 🙂

Awesome! Putting the shortcodes into an HTML block did the trick.

I was able to get 2A done as well. Thank you for your help.

As for 2B, I tried to make Featured a subsort of Random, but couldn’t get it to fall under Random as a subsort for some reason. Featured kept staying equal to Random, instead of becoming a dropdown. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m using Google Chrome as my browser, or if it was some other reason. I didn’t see a box I could check or anything to make it a subsort.

Otherwise, it seems to have turned out well. http://vegas.travelivery.com/places/category/shows-1/united-states/nevada/las-vegas-1/

Honestly, all I did was use the Classic Block that was already on the page as part of the V1 to V2 conversion. I just edited the shortcodes to try and make the page look how I wanted it to.

Is using the Gutenberg Blocks fine for the archive page? I assume it’s fine to do that, but all the blocks were in classic mode from the conversion, so I didn’t know if they had to stay that way.

Also, any insight on my second question?

    Hi, Kor –

Yes, that did lessen the white space and helped. Thank you!

I figured out how to make the Places work. The only problem left is with the Event Manager. Whenever I click on Events in the Menu Bar, the word Events seems to be tied to an old events company I used to use, instead of GeoDirectory. When I click on a specific event in GD Event Listings widget in the right sidebar, the event comes up as Page Not Found.

This seems to be a URL or Permalink issue that I can’t figure out how to fix.

If you like to see what I’m referring to, the site is http://vegas.travelivery.com/

    Your help is appreciated.

To give more insight, I just added a new Place, with information from one of my previous Places, and the new Place came up fine.

I found the information about the previous Place in Place Subfolder of GeoDirectory in my WP Admin. So, it does exist somewhere. 🙂

Just hoping I don’t have to add every Place and Event again. Thanks for your assistance.

I honestly don’t remember launching the conversion tool for V2. I updated the plugin, saw it made my site no longer work the way it was before even getting errors on some pages, deleted all the GeoDirectoy plugins that had been updated, then reinstalled them.

It doesn’t seem like the database is lost. It just seems like the plugin isn’t pulling the content.

Are you suggesting that if I were to upload my sql backup, it should work fine?

I do appreciate the link and the words of wisdom.

Question, I’ve downloaded versinon 1.6.38 and also downloaded the supplement plugins for GeoDirectory. But, when I go to open an Event or Place I have created before, I keep getting an “Oops! That page can’t be found.”

Why is it that I can see it in my Places or Events section of WP Admin, but it won’t show up on the main site? Does that mean that content is gone or is there a box I haven’t checked or something?

I tried updating the Place or Event to see if that would make it show up, to no avail.

    Thank you for your assistance.
