    Hi,

In GeoDirectory v1 I have a More Info tab that lists predefined Custom Fields on the Details Page, along with their name and icon (see image 1). In Geodirectory v2 I too have created a More Info tab that lists predefined Custom Fields on the Details Page but it looks a lot different to V1 (see image 2). For a start, it looks like you can’t have icons for Custom Fields in v2. I appear to have the Place name (Gravetye Manor) appearing under the tab for no apparent reason and the Custom Fields aren’t enclosed in a box as they are in v1.

I’m not too sure if I’m creating the More Info tab in the correct way (see image 3). Please advise.

    All the best.

    Mark

    Hi Mark

You add the icons in the custom field settings, see image 1.

We would need to look at your settings to answer this.

the Custom Fields aren’t enclosed in a box as they are in v1.

That is a matter of adding some CSS.

I’m not too sure if I’m creating the More Info tab in the correct way

You are doing it correctly 🙂

    Thanks

    Hi Guust,

    Thanks for your speedy response.

‘You add the icons in the custom field settings, see image 1.’

This is the message that pops up when you add a child field to a parent field in a tab (also see screenshot): ‘Name and Icon settings are not used for sub items except fieldset.’

‘We would need to look at your settings to answer this.’

Is this something you can do if I set you up as an Admin?

‘That is a matter of adding some CSS.’

    I don’t suppose you supply it? 😉

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

We are here to answer questions about how GD works, and, there are several ways to accomplish what you are after.

The Custom Fields settings are here:

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/places/custom/

Inside each field, click the blue button for advanced settings and choose an icon.

If you want the icon to show in the tabs the field cannot be indented, like a sub-tab.

Instead, you can add it with a shortcode called GD Post Meta.

To try it out first, go to the widgets for your site and find GD Post Meta. Add a GD Post Meta widget to the sidebar on the details page.

If you like how it looks great.

If you still want to add it to the tabs, then try a shortcode, and use the shortcode builder with GD Post Meta.

We offer a great deal of example CSS, but we can’t design your site for you. Our examples are mostly about hiding items, but, you can also use a builder like Elementor if you want to add styling to items.

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/design/gd-post-meta/

Correct, you do not set an icon for a sub-item here, but in the custom field.
    Here is an example: https://wpgeo.directory/starter/places/united-states/california/san-francisco/foine-palace/

    Thanks

    Hi Guust,

    Thanks for the reply.

My Sidebar doesn’t look anything like yours, it’s all bunched up.

Have I done something wrong somewhere?

    All the best.

That all depends on the theme you use etc.
Without knowing the URL of your site, it is a bit hard to comment.
    Thanks

Shame, as it doesn’t look as good as Directory Starter as it’s all bunched up.

    Hi Mark Kingsley-Monks,

Thanks for your reply. Could you tell us a little bit more about your requirements? Maybe we could provide some custom CSS code to fit your needs.

    Hi Kor,

I would like the sidebar in Supreme Directory to look like the sidebar in GD Starter ie with a white border around the items and plenty of space.

If you look at the screenshot you’ll see what I mean.

    Thanks

    Mark

    Hello,

Unfortunately we are unable to make features from one theme available in another.

You can do that yourself or hire a designer/developer to help you with it.

All of the Starter styles are available to see, so, you can copy them and use them to override the Supreme styles.

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/support-policy/

We don’t provide customization services for them nor we support any 3rd Party customizations of our products. For customization we intend any html/css/php/js work that changes the way GeoDirectory and its addons look or function, in relation to the way we made GeoDirectory and its addons available to you.

If you need customization services we suggest to let developer members know in our forum General Discussions, or get in touch with a GeoDirectory Developer for hire at https://geodirectoryexperts.com/

    Hi Alex,

Fair enough but you must agree that the sidebar styling on Supreme Directory is not of the standard we come to expect from GeoDirectory. Perhaps it should be updated at some stage.

    All the best.
