The problem you described in your post don’t mention a specific issue with GeoDirectory.
Can you be more specific about the issue with GeoDirectory?
The issues you describe should be raised with the plugin author.
“Featured” is part of the price package, so, the status lasts as long as the price package, it doesn’t have a separate timer.

I see what you mean, and I made another map and a test children’s listing.
Of course the links won’t light up if there are no listings of that types, but, even with the test listing now I see now records or cannot select it.
I will flag this for the developers to take a look, as I cannot see anything obvious.
I see. Are you using the address autocomplete option or have you disabled it at:
GD – Multilocations – ADD LISTING FORM SETTINGS – Disable Google address autocomplete?
If you are not using the map you should at least be using that. If you are autocompleting the address, how is that working for you? Can you enter and manage the information effectively without the map and the button?
The map an the button can be hidden with custom CSS. We do not recommend it. Here is a document to help you get started: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-your-style/
Hiding the button and the map means your users will enter an address and not be able to correct it. Much of the usefulness of the plugin comes from the management of a database of locations that are managed in tandem with the maps.
If your users enter an address, the address may be incorrect and not match with other addresses already stored in the site. That means their listing won’t end up on the right location page or be found in the near search results.
That is why there is no option to remove it. The only way is via custom CSS.
You might consider making sure that your locations are already added, then use the Multilocations options to allow “select” countries/regions/cities to minimize errors.
Yes, we try to encourage best practices of not exposing email addresses in text directly on the page. The behavior you have noted is meant to avoid giving an opportunity to web bot scrapers who would use the information for nefarious purposes.
We recommend using a text field if your objective is to share the address, perhaps in a case where the site is not open to the general public, for instance.
Relevant to this, the email field is ‘special’ because it is integrated into the options Ninja forms, for example.

They can be listed with a simple buy button. That’s an easy way to sell bespoke addons or services that are complementary to the listing.
