Hello,
Please take a look at the following pages.
Basic Setup:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/
Media setup for images:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#media
Like Buttons – these should have a link that points to the service to share the page on the service. These appear to be working as designed.
Ratings – please review the setup documentation.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/multiratings-and-reviews-add-on-overview/
Comments not displayed – Be sure to have enabled comments on your site for each listing. Include a link to a listing as an example. There is a setting for each listing, and a setting for the whole site.
https://codex.wordpress.org/Comments_in_WordPress
Change stars in overall rating – see the section on Manage Rating Styles in this page:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/multiratings-and-reviews-add-on-overview/
Map Not loading – please see the troubleshooting guide’s map section:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/troubleshooting-guide/#maps
Stars.png not loading – the image is missing. please replace it at:
/wp-content/plugins/geodir_review_rating_manager/icons/stars.pngSearch – GD uses widgets and shortcodes to load a search UI that is unique to GD. I am uncertain of what form you are using for your search.
Please add a GD Search widget to your GD HOme page to see how search works.
Hello,
thanks for writing in today about the Franchise Manager Addon.
The problem you mention sounds like a settings issue.
Please review your configuration as described in the link below.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/franchise-manager-add-on/#config
Let us know if that helps you with the issue
January 25, 2018 at 8:41 am in reply to: Add event (front end) – link business not working on phone (works on ipad) #414330Hello,
filtering the linked places to the current author would be a customization, but you might search through the forums to see how other members have accomplished similar features in the past.
Hello Mathew,
can you say a bit more about that?
copy from which page to which page?
Hello,
Just an idea here, mind you.
I was thinking about AirBnB, how they use that big transparent circle to mark an area?
For folk operating from home, why not give them a default category with a map icon like that?
It would be a larger PNG, maybe 150px*150px or larger, with a semi-transparent circle. You could even offset the circle, maybe 50px off center to the upper left, to make certain that the location is not perfectly marked.
We recently added a snippet example of how a developer might swap out a category icon on the detail page, but, you could just as well hide the category icons on the detail page, given that these listings would have a different package ID specific to the case.
This would only be especially for sites that listed these kinds of folks, I think, a way to make sure to put the best foot forward to respect these self – employed business owners.
I think it may not need be said, but, anyone who works from home should already well aware that they should not publish their home address with the chamber of commerce or the like unless the want it to get picked up and published all over the place.
Hello Joy,
I take your point about language that could be better for new claimant, new customers.
Indeed there should be something more welcoming there. I saw a nice site the other day that had a lot of conditional text widgets with images and text pointing to buttons on unclaimed listings (based on package ID). I found it quite welcoming in that sense.
Perhaps CSS to susbstitute text on free package pages would be a start on it.
All of this assumes that a listing is claimed, so, that is the place to start from. I think it is useful to assume that the claim process is first, and then it is very much up to the site owner to look at customer engagement and to make efforts to form a positive relationship with the user. Certainly translation, text widgets, and maybe even a page and PDF explaining how things work will be helpful.
Hello Joy,
We are pointing out the approach as an example, and this is just the first step in composing the solution you are after.
We are very focused on GD V2 at this moment, which, when released, will make many of these detail oriented changes fundamentally more approachable and in a more systematic way.
We understand that this doesn’t solve your issue in the meantime, but this is also clearly outside of our support policy. This is a customization and you will need to find your own developer resources to implement the feature.
Thanks for your understanding
Hello,
in your file I see you are choosing a file upload, yes.
You would name that “company logo” and then display the logo on the detail page.
See here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#customUse the “Show in what locations” to choose the sidebar.
About the design or column questions, we will need the information below:
URL of the page where we can see the issue:

I have set your site to the task of recreating the dummy data, and it will finish soon.
For now with the places it has loaded thus far I don’t see the same issue.
Once you get some sample listings added manually, you can remove the dummy data and do let us know if you see the issue again.
Hello Duygu,
please zip the file before upload.
We will not be able to diagnose the columns error without looking at the site.
Do you have the site online now?
Please send the following information so that our team can take a look. Just include the info in a private reply so only our team will see it:

n the case of needing to manually update a plugin, you would need to download the plugin files to your desktop, then upload them to your wp-content/plugins folder via FTP. You will be asked if you want to overwrite the files, and you choose yes, overwrite the files.
Hello Amy,
You can adjust the count of posts that show on any given page by changing the setting at:
WP > Settings > Reading > Posts per page
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-change-the-number-of-listings-per-page/
Let us know if that fixes it for you
Hello John,
We be happy to take a look at your site settings. Just include the details below in a private reply.
Have you already enabled additional countries/regions/cities at:
GD > Multilocation
Are you able to manually add listings in other locations?

Search is a big deal to us and we do our very best to make it work in a way that controls costs and complexity while still delivering search results.
There are a wide variety of options available (that cost money) and a GD Expert can tell you about them.
https://geodirectoryexperts.com
Members can certainly request it as a feature and vote it up every month: https://wpgeodirectory.com/requests/
Hello Tony,
The general steps are
Add a new page, call it Blog
Go to WP > Menus and add that page to the menu
Go to WP > Settings > Reading and set ‘Posts page’ the new page (Blog)
Now you can add Posts, and they will show up on the new page.
Le us know if that helps
