It seems you have built the home page with a single format. That should be built with as a Page.
There is not, but, you could put it in a tab to make it more plain with a URL.

UsersWP developers are considering making changes to the tabs feature in the future. To make your request for options for changing the markup you can post a topic there.
The sidebar must include widgets or it will not show, that could have been the issue.

I recommend you link to search with a search results URL, if you need a link to the search page.
This reply has been marked as private.Make sure to use HTML/Raw/Code modules instead of text modules. Text modules add extra space and formatting you don’t need.
The GD Archive item is used anywhere you see small listings. It is the small template, and the details template is the large format.
