It is just a custom field, a checkbox. Anyone who edits the listing can check or uncheck the checkbox.
Fields that are marked admin only or excluded from all Price Packages will not show in the add/edit listing page.

If you don’t setup billing with Google, you will not be able to use Google Maps.
OSM does not require billing/payment.

Specifically, edit the GD Archive item template and remove the GD Post Rating element.
There are many examples of styling buttons throughout the site, just use the search on the right hand side of the page.
For custom styles on your site you should create your own CSS or hire a designer.
It was a V1 feature, and we may add it back in future version of GDV2.

When using the Custom Post Type addon, it is possible to set a different Archive Item template for each Custom Post Type (CPT). The setting for this is found in:CPT Settings (ex. Places Settings) – General (tab) – Show Advanced – Archive Item template – Choose your template page

cover=x will not force a portrait, but if the images you upload are portrait aspect ratio, then they will show better with cover=x.

If a listing is claimed, then the author/owner of the listing, when logged in, can see the edit button and edit.
