with GDV2 you can edit the Archive and Archive item templates as WP Pages.
Try editing the GD Archive Item template and let us know how it goes. You can find that in
WP – Pages Search GD – Select GD Archive Item template

GD – Settings – General – Show advanced

that is a new option in GDV2, to include the location in archive URLs.
You can disable it in the Location Manager options
GeoDirectory – Settings – Locations – Show advanced
Is that the backend, or frontend editor, or both?

Did you use the shortcode builder to create the add listing page shortcode?
If it is the add listing page linked from the GD Page settings, what happens when you visit /add-listing/ (the plain page URL)?
