Changing the media sizes will only have an effect on new images.
You can replace the GD Post Images shortcode with another one that specifies the size of the image that should be used. However the issue is probably related to the space/dimensions where the slider is displayed. You can try ddecreasing the width with custom CSS. If you would like to share a link to a page where we can see the issue we can see if there is anything we can do with custom CSS.
Well, to use V2 you will need to upgrade it, or convert it. The GDV1 code is not compatible with GDV2.
Try downloading the GDV2 version and compare to see the changes that have been made.

If you need hands on help with that you can find an expert here: https://geodirectoryexperts.com
GeoDirectory doesn’t have a setting that will alter your listing titles automatically.
However, GD does provide Lots of design elements so you can do almost anything you want in the templates.
The display you show in your screenshot is created with the archive item template. You can edit that template and use custom HTML and CSS to ‘stick’ together the listing title and the city and state.
To do that you would need to create your own HTML and CSS, but you can use GD Post Meta to show the title and GD Post Address to show the city and state.
Let us know how it goes

3. If you mean the WP Extract field, that is not used by GD. You can create a new textarea or text field (custom field) and store an extract in that.

You can find all the options in the shortcode builder:

p.comment-form-comment { width:100%; }About the category, some members choose to hide all the search fields and just show a category drop down in the search bar. You can do that by adding category to the search bar (check in the Places -> Search tab). Then use CSS on this page to hide the fields you don’t want: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/faq/common-examples/

Are you looking for it to ‘look’ different in some way?
Try a square featured image to see how it looks.
Just a note: If you are building on a staging site, many hosts prevent upload of images on their built in staging environments.
If you are experiencing a non-staging/host related error, see also: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/59763/how-to-fix-http-error-when-uploading-images
Either way, kindly share your Website WP admin access here in private reply and we’ll check on it.
