You are correct, only “List View” is offered, as opposed to Grid 1.
A single grid is not available at this time but I have created a task to look at it for future versions.

it is not possible to convert from GeoTheme directly to GDV2.
You will first need to convert to GDV1 as described at this link:

When you open the file make sure to select “Comma Separated”, as opposed to separated by Space
