Go to GD > Design > Navigation > Allow post type to add from frontend > remove Events
That seems to be a problem with WP, not GD. Anyway, not all functionalities of GD will work on a local server. If you still have that problem on a live server, and you think it is GD related, we’ll have a look for you.

You have every custom field duplicated somehow. Your add listing form asks categories twice and addresses twice. I have no idea how you did that. I guess it might be a plugin conflict so de-activate non-GD plugins until you find it. See also https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/known-issues/

I changed your WP Settings > Reading. That was not set correctly.
