I added this to your CSS at GD > design > script
.chosen-drop {color: black !important}You can change “Read More…” to “Read More” in the core language file.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/Please add your WP admin details in a private reply, so we can have a look.
I think you do not have a page at GD > permalinks > Preview page.
Also run GD > GD Tools > check for GD pages. There is no simple solution. The links change depending who is logged in, and whether they have listings or not etc.
Best tip I can give is to add the GD dashboard widget direct below the “Theme My Login” widget, but hide the heading. That way the GD widget does not show to logged-out users and only shows the menus to logged-in users.I linked to the documentation explaining what the author page is, I did not link to a preview.
The drop down menu is how the GD login widget works to link a logged in user to their listings and favorites. This is a standard preview of an author page while not logged in:
http://wpgeo.directory/author/admin/?geodir_dashbord=true&stype=gd_placeThis is an author page using GD and Buddypress and integration addon:
http://wptry.it/wordpress-directory-theme-whoop/members/twicek/I guess it is the setting at GD > General > general tab > Allow user to see wp-admin area.
We will need URL, WP admin details and FTP login details too in a private reply if you want us to have a look. Thanks.I think you have IP restriction on for Australia in WordFence?
August 18, 2015 at 7:26 am in reply to: Split: Split: Categories and Viewing Listing Defaults #49822You can add the “popular post category” widget and set the category count very high.
You can also use a shortcode: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-shortcodes/#popcatsCan you post your URL and admin details so we can inspect the code and your setup?
August 17, 2015 at 9:51 pm in reply to: Is it better to create a new Custom Post Type or modify gd_place #497991. Easiest is to rename Places to Vendors, and then go to
GD > general > general tab > Select CPT to disable physical location > Add Vendors there.2. See #1. If making the CPT non-address, all will be removed from the maps automatically.
3. See #1. No need to touch the “address” custom field.
4. If you use as per #1, you will be able to search Addressed Vendors by location, and you will be able to Search Online Vendors separately.
5. All CPTs need to be organized by category.
Have a look at http://wpgeo.directory/ and look at the Search widget.
This are online businesses only: http://wpgeo.directory/online/
See how the search adjusts if you select Places versus Online Businesses?Let us know how you went.
Thanks for letting us know. I hope your brain has recovered 🙂
August 17, 2015 at 9:29 pm in reply to: Why does the Sort Function not appear on my search results page? #49796OK, so this is how it works (Stiofan, can you confirm?):
When setting the sorting options:
1. On the listings pages they will be sorted by the order you set, and a drop down menu will appear allowing your visitors to sort by any other sorting options you set up.
2. On the search page, if you searched for something but left the NEAR field blank, your listings will be sorted by the order you set in the back-end, but there will be no drop down menu to re-sort differently.
3. On the search page, if you searched NEAR a location, listings will be returned in order of distance from the center of that location you entered in the NEAR field, and listings cannot be sorted any other way.You can charge users a fee for featured listings if you use the Prices and Payments addon:
