When a user on the front page in the main search bar chooses a category and klicks the search button, this will take him to the search page where all the search results are shown. Right?
Yes, for that category.
And as a user at this stage, I would expect to be able to find some sorting options in order to sort my search results. However, from your message I understand that on the search page for some reason sorting options are generally never displaid at all. Right?
Correct.
In order to have sorting options, the user must choose a category from a widget or some navigation in the main menue – but NOT via the main search bar. Is that correct?
Correct.
If this is correct, this doesn’t really seem logic to me.
The principle is that when you SEARCH for something, you expect the result to show what you searched for, just like that. There is no need to sort, because the results are ordered by relevance to your search. For example, if you search for “mouse”, the results will show you listings first with mouse in the title, then listings with mouse in the description but not the title etc.
If you just search for anything in a category without choosing to narrow down your search, why would you expect anything else? If you wanted something else, you would have searched for it.But if you just want to see all listings in a category, then it makes sense you go to the category page, not the search results page. And there you can sort.
Although this is for V1, the same principle applies for V2: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/searching-and-browsing/
Thanks
Great to hear! You’re welcome 🙂
Great. Let us know how you go. I see you still have to do the conversion itself.

GD Search searches title, description, tags and categories.
I am not sure about the API search, I’ll get the developers to have a look at your question after the weekend. Thanks
Thanks for letting us know.
I don’t think the variable is translated, but it is just the lower case of the CPT name.
The developers will have a closer look after the weekend. Please check now, I corrected your permalinks to Post name.
Let us know. ThanksPS: I also turned off GD Booster, it is not compatible with V2. We recommend https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/faq/performance/#recommended-cache-plugin
Thanks
If you only select “Listing page” then it will not show in the sidebar of the Detail page.
If you want to show it in a tab, add the address field and the phone number to a tab, as explained here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/reordering-tabs-in-geodirectory-v2/Places > Settings > Tabs
Thanks
I guess the coding forces it to lower case, because the capitalization is not used there except for German.
I’ll check with the developers if that is correct.
For the developers:
See https://edelmut.org/mitglieder/dbff9f96d7503b93/listings/Thanks
Where did you choose to show the address?
Places > Settings > Custom Fields > Address > Show in extra output location > What do you have there? And did you add a GD Output Location widget to the Details page sidebar if that is where you want to show it?
Thanks
