1. Activate the Advanced Search addon
2. Go to Places > Settings > Search tab
3. Click on “Categories” on the left, that will move it to the right
4. Click to open, and tick “Show in main search bar?” and choose “SELECT”
5. SaveThat should give you the options as in image 2.
Let us know how you went, and if we need to check your settings, add your WP admin details in a private reply.
Thanks
You need to create a WP page for your homepage: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/themes/supreme/#design
Thanks
Can you post FTP details too please, then I will get a developer to have a closer look.
The CPT addon is correctly installed, but there is no tab at GD > Settings for “Post Types” and nothing at …/wp-admin/admin.php?page=gd-settings&tab=cpts
Thanks
You’re welcome 🙂
This is the error you have:
You have exceeded your request quota for this API. See https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages?utm_source=maps_js&utm_medium=degraded&utm_campaign=billing#api-key-and-billing-errors
Thanks
1) Is GDV2 really at a stage where it can work properly or still in a testing mode?
Yes, it is all ready for live sites.
2)How much time is it approx. going to take me to fix all these problems with GDV2 and get my site going again?
That depends on what customisations you had. It should take not more than a few hours normally. The steps are outlined here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/installation/#convert
3) Or would you rather recommend that I completely uninstall GDV2 and install GDV1, do all the categories and prices again from scratch, which would take me approx. 2 months.
It should be a lot simpler to fix up your issues.
4) Do you think that some time in the future the convertion from GDV1 to GDV2 will go smoothely without loss of functionality and all these working hours to get the page going after the switch?
That is already how it should be.
If you need us to look at your conversion, post your URL and WP admin details of the old site and the staging conversion site and we will have a look if you like.
Have a look at GD > Status > Tools > Fix location duplicate slugs > Run
In V2 location slugs indeed need to be unique. Thanks
You can use the shortcode builder or blocks: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/shortcode-builder/
Thanks
You can delete that category at Places > Categories.
Thanks
You cannot use page builders for GD pages in V1, but you can use page builders for V2 pages.
Thanks
You’re welcome 🙂
If you have days with a stop and start time, then they are treated as one event each day, but they can be part of the same listing if they are created within the same post.
So you will have 9 events if you have a 3 day long happening every 3 years. But they will only have one detail page similar to this: https://wpgeo.directory/docs/events/italy/lombardy/milan/events/pizza-night-at-zavino-pizzeria-and-wine-bar/The only other option I can think off, is to create 3 different 3-day events, and add all the information of each 3 day event in the same listing, explaining the different days.
Thanks
Please check now.
Replaced Images with Photos tab.
Removed slider from GD Detail page.If you do not check “all day”, you will get the option to add “Different Event Times?” for each day.
The events tab should only show if there are events connected to the Place.
Thanks
