There are 2 options for the homepage:
Gd > Design > Map > Enable map cache > YES
GD > Design > Map > Select category to untick by default on map > Select all but one

What browser etc are you using? It just works every time for me using Chrome on Windows.
The only steps I take is what you show in your video: type 2 or 3 letters, select the campaign, make sure all required fields are filled in, and save.
