All done now, I’ve deactivated all plugins and now it is working.
I’ve spent almost 2 hours cleaning up database and I also had to recreate virtual pages, but now it should all work.
I didn’t reactivate all plugin 1 by 1 to see which one is the culprit. I’ll leave that to you 🙂

Ok, I’ve fixed everything in the database and everything looks in order, however the location switcher is still redirecting everyone to the homepage.
To fix this I would try disabling all non GD plugins (especially jetpack), to see if it is one of them in conflict.
But I have to ask you before proceeding, because jetpack settings are lost everytime you deactivate.

Can you please provide FTP and wp admin credentials?
The only thing that comes to my mind is a problem in the edited mo file.

currently search works like this.
If location selected is Everywhere it will search in all locations
If location selected is a Country it will search only in that Country
If location selected is a Region it will search only in that Region
If location selected is a City it will search only in that CityAs many members are requesting it, we are working on a solution that will allow users to search in another city, even when they selected another location.
At the moment, the only solution is to explain how that works to your visitors.

Without FTP though, it will be hard to find out what function the theme author added to hijack the search.
Does he provide any kind of support? If you ask him, I’m sure it will help us identify it in a fraction of the time.

I can confirm the problem is related to the theme only, because I’ve tried activating twentytwelve quickly and it doesn’t do it.
I tried commenting out an action in a theme’s file that I suspected it could be the culprit (in framework.php) and it’s throwing an error now.
I’m really sorry ,but I need FTP credentials to fix it and continue testing, because I can’t use the wordpress editor because of the error.

the problem is simple, you renamed the Avada folder to Avada-Theme and the child theme is not able to find it’s parent theme. Because it’s looking for files in folder called Avada.
Just rename it and you’ll be able to use our child theme.

Developers documentation is still under construction.
Given that we are still adding/editing hooks listening to members feedback, we prefered to hold on untill we had a more definitive list.
The idea is to take wordpress codex as example and edit a page for each and every function of the plugin.
This as you can imagine will require time and it will be a work in progress.
At the moment you can find most in geodirectory_hooks_actions.php and for templates in geodirectory_template_actions.php
