Thanks very much for all your help. I’ll downgrade for now.

Please can you confirm V2 will work with GDF Modern when the time comes? I noticed on FB it won’t work with Whoop yet.

Thanks very much, Stiofan. Obviously the home page is blank now till I sort everything out. I can see my listings, etc in the wp-admin. Question is should I persevere now as it’s done and try to finish it or wait till later when I have more time? It’s a dilemma!

I’m not sure I can remember all the widgets I set now! Sadly I don’t have a visual image of how it was, how it looked.

I’ve started reading through the info. Not sure it’s that easy a process. (GT to GD wasn’t that easy!) I notice plugins need further updating before running the conversion/continuing. Then they need disabling.

If I go back to V1 will it be as it was or will some settings have been lost there too? I’m using the GDF MODERN theme. Will it work with that? I’ll probably revert for now to be safe and ensure I’ve noted everything I wish to keep/redo.
    All the best,
    Sue

Thanks. I’ve done that and it seems to help. I at least have the map in the right area. But I get this message where the longitude and latitude are: “A numeric value is required. Please make sure you have either dragged the marker or clicked the button: Set Address On Map.” Is this because there’s no street number? All I have with this address are GPS coordinates in degrees.

Obviously I want people to be able to add their addresses easily or they won’t post. I note in settings that checking this option is not recommended (only for small sites) and this will be a big site with a lot of listings as global.

I tried again with this company’s registered office which at least is in a nearby town rather than the country and this was correct at the second attempt. The way these businesses format their address needs rearranging to work. For example, this one is Palestro, 22 – 74020 Torricella (Ta) Italy. If I remove the 22 it comes up even with the code is the wrong order for us.The code disappears when set on the map but can be added manually to show on the listing.

I just hope, if this is the best we can do, that people persevere! I have had no problems with my UK GD sites, as I said.

I will try adding more listings now. This is one of the problems, you can’t launch an empty site! It takes ages to add them one by one.

Sorry, using Open Street Map. The actual site can’t find it either. But checked with Google Maps and it can easily! What’s the solution as it happens with all place posts?

Thank you! All good now. Much appreciated. I’d still like to know why it happened though, why it wasn’t ok straight off. I’ve never had this problem before. But not used GDF Modern before.

    a) Yes, that has solved the slider problem. They’re all the same size. Thanks.

    b) BUT, the N is still missing from the ‘New’ tab below in the popular content. In my other sites this shows in full over images and is slightly proud of the image at the top, resting slightly above. Here it’s flush with the top so missing the top of the tab and the N. It must be a padding issue.

    c) Has this happened before? Why didn’t the default settings on GD work in this instance?

You should just need to put in a pw under Private Blog when you open the page to see the site. Do you want wp_admin? That is different.

Thanks Alex. I’ve not had this happen with other sites. I’m using GDF Modern child. I have the GD image design set to default. I tried changing this to other settings last night but it made no difference. Obviously we have no control over the size or resolution of images people add in their listings so they need to be adjusted automatically to fit.

I’ll provide the link in a minute.

I’m trying to set up the marketplace plugin so GD registered users who post listings can sell things.

I bought and installed the marketplace plugin. I downloaded and installed Woocommerce. There is no setup (but basic Marketplace options are in GD tab) and Woo commerce setup (if you select it) asks you to add your address (see attached) then continue to next item in setup. I need a multivendor system not MY address. I can’t see how to set up the marketplace. In the link I have in the above reply and below it tells you how to do it but that doesn’t appear with GD:

https://wc-marketplace.com/knowledgebase/wcmp-setup-guide/#2 It must be the same product, the logo is the same.

After reading your reply earlier, (September 22 2018 at 12:01 am) I bought the UsersWP you suggested from https://userswp.io/downloads/woocommerce/ ($39 for 5 sites).

I’m still confused as what to do next to set it up. 🙁 I’ve looked at Web’n’Ware. The UsersWP settings are now in the WP dash.

    Thanks,
    Sue

Alex – Yes, but if you’re referring to the tab in the WP dashboard, there are only basic settings there, full settings are absent. No ‘Commission’ etc., as suggested in the UsersWP page. It’s not clear how to set it up. I don’t get this setup guidance on the dashboard:

    https://wc-marketplace.com/knowledgebase/wcmp-setup-guide/#2

Guust – I’m still not clear how to get this Marketplace plugin going. I bought it from UsersWP which also seems to be Stiofan’s Ayecode but there is membership offered there which I presume is not the GD one I have. It’s confusing! This marketplace is being offered separate from the GD website so is not just for GD.

I’m being asked by Woocommerce plugin to add my address etc in setup. I don’t wish to do this as it’s not my address people will be selling from so I can’t even set that up! I’m still trying to sort it following your advice.

A guide on how to set it up to work would be really helpful. The one in the link above doesn’t help in this instance.
    Thanks,
    Sue
