I am new to word-press and started with the Supreme Directory theme. I have a couple of questions and help would be appreciated.
1) On the Demo it shows on homepage https://wpgeo.directory/supreme-directory/ Places – Search – Near, when I installed it places is missing.
2) How do I add popular places on bottom of home page like on demo?
3) Is there a way for me to change instead of calling it places to call it Restaurants, since I will be using only for dining?
Thanks for any help
October 21, 2016 at 6:07 pm #289329Also on homepage right under Find Local Treasures it says “Discover the best places to stay, eat, shop and events near you.” where can I edit that?
October 21, 2016 at 10:55 pm #2895011) The demo uses more than one Custom Post Type (CPT), it uses Places and Events.
That dropdown will only show there if you have more than one CPT.2) Add the Popular Post widget to a GD Home section if you use GD Home as your homepage, if you use a WP page, add the shortcode
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/widgets/#popular-post
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-shortcodes/#poppost
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/layout/#directory3) You can rename Places to Restaurants using the language files or by using the Custom Post Types addon
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-change-place-and-places/4) To change the homepage subtitle, review https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/supreme-directory-overview/#homepage

To add a drop down of your categories, you need the Advanced Search addon too.
See an example here:
https://wpgeo.directory/attractions/
The first dropdown is CPTs, the second one is for categories if you select Attractions as CPT.October 23, 2016 at 5:24 pm #290205This reply has been marked as private.October 23, 2016 at 9:54 pm #2903381) Go to GD > Place Settings > Custom Fields tab > category field
Open by clicking on it
Add this field to the advanced search? YES
Then go to the Advanced Search tab
Click on category on the left, it will move to the right
Say YES to “Show in main search bar”
Save2) Those are CPTs in the demo, not categories.
If you want to add categories there, add them using the normal WP menu.3) You will need a SSL certifate, please review https://wpgeodirectory.com/adding-a-ssl-certificate-to-your-website/
4) Appearance > Menus
October 26, 2016 at 1:05 am #291889Thanks, got those to work.
1) Is there a way to create on the listing page hours by each day?
2) On the listing page is there a way to create a tab “Menu” just like Profile, photo & map? so that I can load images of the restaurants menu?
3) The address on the listing comes out like this:
Address: 4051 Stirling Rd
Davie
Florida
33314
United States
can I change it to look like the following?
Address: 4051 Stirling Rd
Davie, Florida 33314
United States
4) On the listings page there is a drop-down for View with different options, is there a way for me to set default option? is there a way for me to remove and just leave it one way without allowing people to change it?
5) How would I create a Terms & Conditions and Privacy page, and create a checkbox that needs to be clicked whenever someone Registers, signs in, posts reviews, or listings etc…?Thanks for all your help
October 26, 2016 at 1:06 am #291890On homepage how do I edit “Discover the best places to stay, eat, shop and events near you.”?
October 26, 2016 at 1:14 am #291893When someone tries registering a user on my website it keeps saying “Suspected bot”. I tried from different computers and email accounts.

Have a look at this 3rd party addon: https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/gd-business-hours-2/2) On the listing page is there a way to create a tab “Menu” just like Profile, photo & map? so that I can load images of the restaurants menu?
You have to create a new fieldset, and then a file upload field. Here are a few links:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#fieldset
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#file3) The address on the listing … can I change it … ?
Please see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/changing-the-layout-of-addresses/4) On the listings page there is a drop-down for View with different options, is there a way for me to set default option?
Go to GD > Design > Listings tab > Listing content section view4) is there a way for me to remove and just leave it one way without allowing people to change it?
Use this CSS:.geodir-list-view-select {display: none;}5) How would I create a Terms & Conditions and Privacy page
Go to Pages > Add new.
To make people agree to terms and conditions on registration, you can look for plugins like https://wordpress.org/plugins/agreeable/6. On homepage how do I edit “Discover the best places to stay, eat, shop and events near you.”?
See https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/supreme-directory-overview/#homepage7. When someone tries registering a user on my website it keeps saying “Suspected bot”.
Probably some other security plugin you are using? Post your admin details if we need to have a look.October 26, 2016 at 11:03 am #292079This reply has been marked as private.October 26, 2016 at 11:59 am #292116This reply has been marked as private.October 26, 2016 at 7:10 pm #292358Is there a way for me to make that new listings and reviews dont go active until approved by admin?
October 26, 2016 at 10:08 pm #292477To have listings go to draft on submission instead of instant publishing:
GD > Design > Listings tab > New listing default status > draftTo hold comments for review: WP Settings > discussion > Before a comment appears > Comment must be manually approved
Thanks
