I tested this and if places is disabled from frontend add then the search error text will switch to another cpt.
If that is not what you are seeing you can share WP Admin and we can check on it.Please share WP Admin credentials in a private reply so we can look into it further.

Sorry,that’s a bug. There aren’t any typography customizer options. We will make sure that doesn’t show, there.
I don’t understand the question. Are you asking how to change a field from ‘text’ to ‘select’? It is not possible, the field must be recreated.
Is that what you mean?We do it this way because we want to make sure every link is valid. Using default text might result in broken links. We want everyone’s directory to have clickable links as easily as possible and this is the best we have been able to get it so far.
There is not a way to ‘deactivate’ a CPT except to delete it.
DO you mean ‘Disable frontend add” which means users cannot add it from the frontend? That will not remove it from other places on the site, that setting only makes it impossible for normal users to add a listing because they cannot see the form.

You can change the plugin text by translating the plugin in your site’s language, changing the default text into a ‘translated’ version that is different.
Direct them to “add-listing” like /add-listing/?listing_type=gd_MYCPTNAME
