That’s standard WP behaviour. Rather than giving a 404 straightaway, it looks through the slugs to see if there is something you might be looking for.

For other GD customers, GoDaddy has done the migration, it should be dead easy for them and part of support.
You cannot have the one CPT that makes addresses optional.
You have to create 2 different CPTs, one for listings with addresses, and one for listings without addresses.
