GD now has the option to resize images to what is considered the optimal size:

I don’t really know how imsanity would impact on GD, never used it.

You did not have your permalinks set correctly:

You had updated the GD core plugin but not the addons:

I have also disabled GD Booster, it is not working as expected. I think because the site is currently in “coming soon” mode, there is a conflict with GD Booster. Once you go live, turn GD Booster back on and let us know if that creates problems again.

Did you add a fieldset just in front of the custom field?
Is the fieldset active?
Do you have any data in the custom field?

You can add the filename of the image to your CSV upload file and then upload the images as per

None of the GD listings need an image, so an Event does not need an image either.
But you can set default images at
GD > design > listings > Upload listing no image

I’ll get Paolo to have a look at your question too, but why not just use coupons for your freebies and giveaways?
GD > Prices and Payments > Coupons tab.

You need to choose OAUth 2.0 (look at the top of the screen, there are 2 links, one to OAuth consent screen, and one for credentials).
